Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

Prof Sir Van-Tam is well known for his football covid analogies - I think you’d like him

You don’t need to intentionally infect people to find things like this, and their small sample size is not better evidence than other work about viral load

If you want to say why the part of the article he quoted is inaccurate go for it. I gave you a very simple warning: stop saying it’s suspicious that this part of the article was quoted rather than that part. You’ll not be warned again.

You deleted my post in which I implied it was suspicious. You gave me new rules to follow, I followed them. I did not imply it was suspicious in my second post, I asked him why he chose what he chose with no implication.

Essentially, to be crystal clear here, the new rule is that on this discussion forum, I cannot ask churchill what his takes are on content he posts?

Apparently the U.K. has this whole program to deliberately infect and isolate people in their 20s, with some vaccinated people next and it just seems so fucking dumb. I don’t see the upside.

It’s just not a relevant question. No one cares if people get infected with 1 or 10 droplets in a lab. We actually care about transmission and spread in a community, and this study doesn’t add anything to that.

I’m generally against challenge trials like I assume most of us are, but I’m not sure how to proceed in a world where people are trying to get infected. Like, if they’re out there trying to catch it anyway, we might as well learn from it, right?

Granted they won’t be 100% successful in trying to get infected…

Also this seems quite different now vs. early 2021, given how much easier it is to succeed at catching Omicron if you’re trying.

You would be a terrible super villain. What about the joy of infecting strangers with a virus?

That is not the rule. Cut this shit out. You don’t get the benefit of the doubt when you do the exact same thing you just had a post deleted and warned for but slightly reword it. Cut this instigating bullshit out.

Don’t reply to this post.

Jesus dude

Well if you get her to come post here, I will do that. My guess is that her take would come across a little differently in a larger post than it did in those three paragraphs, but who knows for sure?

Pretty sure asking him not to reply to this post is against the rules Keed. The forum has functions to solve that for you.

I was suprised at the time, as you’ll remember, but that’s cause I’m used to policies here - and don’t blame you for the policies there.

Clinical trials are a thing here - always advertising for people to be injected / infected with new stuff for $$ - doubt this covid one was much different

Residents of a Pennsylvania county were warned on Saturday not to approach a monkey still missing after a crash involving a pickup towing a trailer taking about 100 of the animals to a research laboratory.

I’m pretty sure it’s well within the rules for mods to ask people to stop doing something or else. Ask me how I know lol.

agree to disagree.

oh yeah compare me to a villain as I treated people without adequate PPE and vaccines because you’re butthurt online I didn’t get tested for covid.

Great track record of late. Was there lots of alcohol at that meeting too?

‘Excessive’ drinking has a definition in the UK - >14 units a week for a male - a 33cl bottle of corona is 1.5 units - don’t believe the clickbait

They drink Corona in the UK? Surely even the crap beer over there is better than Corona.

So they put an actual droplet in an actual nose. Not something spewed out and allowed to circulate in the air, dessicate, etc.

That study doesn’t approximate anything other than two people having nose sex.

What’s the end result? wear a fucking mask and don’t stand down airflow of infected people. Since we don’t know who is infected, it cycles back to wear a fucking mask.

The whole thing just seems pointless. If we going to test it we should get a mister and highly calibrated amounts of virus in the air. I know a good enclosed space-school classrooms. Seems about as ethical.

My commentary is on the study. Not directed at anyone itt. I just really don’t agree with it.
