Here’s a posted study:
Someone itt ballparked 75% for net mask efficiency. Pretty much what was achieved here. On top of that that hamsters with masks got weaker cases. [image] I think they put mask partitions up not masks on the hamsters but cute picture.
Here’s an entire thread on masks, in which numerous users chime in on efficacy. The OP, @LFS, from July 2020 posts a link that cites proper surgical masks at 80%.
Let’s talk masks. What are you wearing, what’s good, what isn’t. Here’s my arsenal: I run every morning wearing masks I made by cutting the sleeves of some stretchy tech-material undershirts I have. Right but we knew this then, and could have predicted the fallout then. We would have come up with a better strategy and position. Something like, “If everyone uses homemade masks, they’ll be nearly as effective and you’ll save the PPE for the frontline heroes who need it. We’ll ramp up and get enough PPE for everyone within a few weeks, please do your part as Americans and order through this website here that will put you in line for the first batch of consumer PPE.”
