London population is as good as 9m. Add in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland and death rate is âinlineâ with other Nations. Not good though and I expect this to go over 1k daily when England regions start. Local nurse has been briefed and this stated UK is 6-7 weeks til peak!
UK death stats are also taking into account nursing homes / home fatalities at this early stage in counting - theyâre updated up to a week later but still in that total.

So Apple and google will have apis in may for contract tracing in their mobile devices using low energy Bluetooth that health organizations can tap into. This is good news. If we can have a foundational tracing mechanism and ever get testing up to a decent level, we can start getting things turned back on.

âWorld was warned of global pandemicâ
The former director general of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr Gro Harlem Brundtland has been talking to BBC Radio 4 about what she says is the lack of âpreparedness of the worldâ for a global pandemic.
Mrs Brundtland, who was the first female prime minister of Norway, is co-chair of the WHO and World Bankâs Global Preparedness Monitoring Board, who published a report in September 2019 warning of a âhighly lethal pandemicâ.
âWhat we have now is a warned catastrophe," she said.
âWe saw big alarming gaps in the preparedness of the world and found compelling evidence of a very real threat.â
âItâs not too late but we have to deal with the fact we are already in this now, which means putting emphasis on mobilising funding and (placing) attention on getting the equipment that is needed."

If the mask wonât alter their behaviour then the mask is worth it.
Thereâs 6 of us here, 4 of which are under 10yrs and have been locked down to home only since 17 March. If / when I go out for supplies (weed) Iâll be wearing an N95.
If they will think I can do an extra trip to the grocery each day because mask makes me invincible, then probably best not to recommend the mask.
