If we have limited immunity or no immunity then pretty soon we should see cases of people who got it in February/March and then get it again over a month later.
It’s still a little early to know yet, but if we don’t see cases of people who definitely had it in March and got over it by early April and then are fine and suddenly get it again in May, then we can be pretty sure there is at least some temporary immunity.
Every month after May that we don’t see reinfections from March people, that’s one month more of how long immunity lasts that we can add to the very likely column.

Sort of depends on your definition of “success,” but we have pretty good SARS/MERS vaccines.
So a mixture of hotel owners who want people traveling and people whose job has to do with the economy so they want it opened back up.
No doctors or scientists or anybody incentivized to minimize deaths.

The issue would be you can’t get herd immunity if people can get it again.
Even if everyone who gets it again is asymptomatic, if they are contagious and spread it from their throat then there is no herd immunity and basically everyone is going to get this eventually.
It would also make it hard to have a real vaccine for this unless the vaccine at least makes you asymptomatic as well.
What could go wrong?

I feel like any kind of unvetted health into is not helpful, even if it doesn’t kill you directly.
To be quite honest there have been so many panics here I’m not sure which one.
If the worst predictions come true it will be very very bad instead of just bad or very bad, but tens of thousands of years of civilisation are not coming to end - it’s this kind of hyperbole that drives me mad.
Even if large numbers of us city dwellers perish agricultural countries/communities will survive - I assume you count them as civilised?
