COVID-19 (2): Turns out it's going to be pretty bad actually

Not yet sentenced for the Nike shakedown, still awaiting trial on a litany of tax fraud, embezzlement and fraud charges (including stealing millions of dollars from a paraplegic, mentally disabled client).

His wiki page says he faces 40 years just for the Nike stuff.

That article says heā€™s not allowed to use the internet while on release. He wonā€™t last a day lol.

I donā€™t see how he has any incentive to not try to flee the country. Heā€™s got nothing to lose at this point.

@suzzer99

Glasgow is just the best city in da world, no fancy lights no hang ups, no place like it tbh.

Ask Brad Pitt, he seemed to enjoy himself up in the Milton as a young man.

Or Charlie Sheen when he ended up at a party in the East Endā€¦ :scream: Yup it happened.

What you get in Glasgow is people, itā€™s the people who make Glasgow and Glasgow makes it people.

Stop and ask directions here and youā€™ll see at 1st glance how we areā€¦ Ask for anything in your accent in a pub and folks will chat away for hours with you.

Tell them yer dadā€™s from here and youā€™ll probably drink for free the rest of the night.

Honestly there is no other city quite like ours, itā€™s definitely unique. And very friendly.

Edinburgh is like london, but thereā€™s no place like Glasgow.

Ask SUB :v:

:point_up_2: Give me a shout when your hereā€¦ :point_up_2:At this spot and the beers are on me.

Probably the hardest time in recent history to flee the country though.

Itā€™s not just their kids and their kidsā€™ friends. Itā€™s them and the people they live with at home. Many of the kids live in multi-generational homes. So there are a lot of grandparents that can be infected and they are more likely to die from this.

Going back to school this year is almost certainly going to result in a second outbreak. Us teachers really want to get back to the school and teach but we also know that their desire to do that is easily outweighed by the welfare of the students and their families.

I knew that loosening restrictions this early would be a terrible idea. It was a response to political pressure from multiple governmental departments to open things up. But it was clearly too early to do it. The basic reproduction number is finally below 1 in this country and it needs to stay there for a while before any further changes are implemented. To me, things shouldnā€™t open up until the number of active cases decreases day-by-day. So far, itā€™s still going up and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the month.

my roommates just decided to set out a box of random household things for delivery people to take if they need them? Like a roll of toilet paper, paper towels, dish sponges? weā€™re now running a bodega for Amazon workers? Man this is weird. They havenā€™t really left the house in weeks and they wipe down their own stuff that they get at the store before putting it away. What is going on here is this suppose to be a thing you do now itā€™s like Halloween for delivery workers and our mail person?

From a tourist perspective, Glasgow is not the most appealing place. Edinburgh has way more tourist attractions.

But the people in Glasgow are a million times friendlier than those in Edinburgh almost to the point where itā€™s intimidating. I had people taking pictures with me at the pub in Central Railway Station solely because I was American. It was fucking weird.

Of course, thereā€™s nothing that symbolizes Glaswegian humor more than this:

Thatā€™s one of Glasgowā€™s most well-known landmarks. Itā€™s so common to see the Duke of Wellington statue with a cone on its head that this picture is on its Wikipedia page. From time to time, the police take it down only for another one to be placed on top a couple of hours later.

Plenty of open seats on flights at great prices I hear.

Lol. Of course he might get noticed when heā€™s literally the only one on the flight.

I stayed in Glasgow (near the convention center by the river) for a week in 2008 when my then wife was a presenter at an International Nursing conference.

Among other places we visited was the School of Art. Did the Mackintosh building catch fire since I visited?

I ainā€™t watching that. Cliffs? Is it just yoga for Christians?

Man if true I hope itā€™s not as terrible as Christian rock music.

Went to a different town To go to Wegmans about 5 miles further out. Much better. Line only about 3 minutes to get in. Had almost everything (no wipes). One young couple came in holding hands, no PPE And grabbed one thing. They were looking at the rest of us like aliens. But hey she was really cute.

Filled the cart. Most People wore masks. Check outs have plexiglass now. Professional made dots on floor as markers for distance.

Shopping much easier with the low number of people in the aisles.

People seem to be getting the hang of it.

Going to try making our own cheesesteaks this week.

First I heard of this. Are these items left at a protected entrance?

Seems like a nice enough gesture and considerate but I think most delivery drivers would be wary at first unless they had been doing the same route for a long time.

But if you got supplies to share not a bad bitch uote to go. At least reduces the odds they spit on your packages.

Again - their sample was one hard hit town - not the whole country.

The problem with that is the people who get the vaccine could still be super infectious for weeks - the way this thing replicates and sheds from the throat before symptoms even appear.

Has that ever been an issue with a vaccine - that the people who take it are infectious? @MrWookie?
