Little microdaughter cancelled a trip to the UK where she was going to hang out in person for the first time with the friend she’s talked to pretty much daily for the last two years. Unironic sad. There will be time later though - she had trip insurance.
I’ll admit, I’ve been contemplating stopping my Humira, though at this point it’s probably too late for my immune system to rebuild if I stop now.
Psoriasis plaques on my face and arms and flakes from the plaques that would develop on my scalp would only help with social distancing, since no one will want to come near me!
I’m just kidding, I won’t stop the doses, but I certainly have thought about it.

Ugh. Glad I just made my last trip to the grocery store.
Ugh Humira sucks. Not only was that the most painful med I’ve ever had to take, but I would get sick like twice a month while on it. Are you on the new version with a better pH balance? I’ve heard that’s infinitely better than the old formula as far as pain goes.
I’m considering not going for my Entyvio infusion next week, but I don’t think it’s a risk I can take. I get it at a cancer infusion suite at a hospital, but it has it’s own entrance. My plan is to mask up, pick the most isolated chair, and get the fuck home as quick as possible.
Lost almost 10 pounds so far on the Coronadiet:
Step 1: Stockpile a ton of food
Step 2: Don’t eat it because maybe you’re going to need it if society collapses
It sucks slightly that I have to go to work tomorrow morning.
I mean it won’t be for long and it’s unlikely that everybody will be there (the teacher’s room I’m in holds just 5 people, myself included) but I’d rather not go there even if it has just been disinfected.
But I’ll probably have to go in a morning per week for the next month (assuming that school actually opens) since I can’t access all of the online material from home.
South Africa closes borders to ‘high-risk’ countries
South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced the nation’s borders will be closed to all foreign nationals from “high-risk” countries: Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany, the US, the UK and China.
I mean it’s clearly fake, but I laughed
It’s not too bad, I don’t get a lot of side effects. Of course, for psoriasis I only take one shot every 2 weeks. One troubling thing I’ve noticed is I think I’m starting to show symptoms of psoriatic arthritis (for which I have, of course, been taking OTC NSAIDS, fuck me), which will require an entire re-tooling of my dosage or even different meds. Definitely gonna wait on all that and suffer having some fat fingers for a while.
The annoying thing is Kaiser refuses to allow me to stock up on it so I’ll be heading down to the pharmacy in a week to get my next dose. I’m going to keep bugging my dermatologist to write an exception to that.
I am super worried about my Mom and my sister. Mom has MS, sister has Grave’s and Myasthenia Gravis, and her immune system has been prednisoned to death. Thank god she had a thymectomy before all this shit went down, and is in the phase where they are starting to reduce prednisone dosage.
I think everything you wrote is basically correct, except your conclusion that people wouldn’t be taking the stuff. Seems everybody knocks the fevers down with the drugs.
(it’s not)

I think they’ve changed the wording a bit, but it’s still there
I read that it’s becoming a new thing to let the fever ride so long as it doesn’t become a high grade fever (which I think is over 39.5C/103F).
Been a long time since I had a fever. So I’m not sure.
You can see the message on the Facebook group page where the USA is not mentioned.
But yeah I see it in the letter too.
Yeah, I take a fuckton of Advil when I have a cold. It takes me from feeling miserable to feeling almost OK. Makes a huge difference in my symptoms (not taking it for fever). I guess I won’t be doing that for any upper respiratory infections in the near future.
And taking Advil or cold meds with it as a component is probably not uncommon at all.
Apparently the local TV station in Florida started playing last year’s Indy car race and everyone on social media freaked out thinking this year’s wasn’t canceled.
I was freaking out that it was already Memorial Day weekend.
Here’s a small useful thing we can all do: leave a little paper towel dangling for the next person to tear off and use to dispense paper towel. This way your clean hands don’t have to touch that dirty handle.
