I don’t know, it’s possible, but a large amount of variation in the flu season occurs in November to February. March is the tail end and for the last 5 years it’s been around the same numbers whether in a good or bad flu season. There’s, relatively, not a lot of flu cases out there to catch that would have been otherwise missed.
Yeah, nothing new with me. Renodoc is an eye guy who on a personal basis I like, but is (as far as I can tell) a Rand Paulish sort of person. That may not be fair - I haven’t interacted with him for a couple of years
Posted a week ago about considering moving out of my house because 2 housemates are not taking this seriously.
They are still going out to bars, ubering around. 4mo left on the lease.
I’m looking at 4mo airbnbs (or sublet) somewhere on the east coast. Could basically be anywhere between DC/NY. Any suggestions on areas? I trust this thread much more than whatever suggestions I’ll find from googling.
TRADITIONAL GIFT: China is the traditional gift for the 20th wedding anniversary. There are several different gifts that can be given. Here are just a few suggestions: a china vase, dinner set, tea set, photo frame, personalized china plate. If you want to pull out all the stops, consider arranging a trip to China.
Congratulations on 20th. Whatever you decide on don’t do this.
I’ve often viewed it as a class/poverty thing as much as a cultural thing. My maternal grandparents, both poor first-generation Irish immigrants, were extremely blunt and direct with their comments.
A general response to deplorable “friends” on Facebook (probably won’t be much longer). Not necessarily directed right at them by name, but the direction is clear. I mean this is at least how I feel now:
I love NYC in general, but I’d avoid it right now. The overwhelming likelihood is that it’s going to have the worst outbreak in the region, not a good time to move there IMO. I live in Philly and love it, I used to live in Baltimore and don’t recommend it. Visited DC a lot and it’s a cool city, too, but that’s a visiting experience and your experience will vary a lot by neighborhood. I’ve heard great things about Arlington and Alexandria if you’re willing to go just south of DC in that metropolitan area.
Obviously PA gets you that sweet, sweet swing vote!
If you have questions about specific areas, I know everything between Baltimore and Philadelphia really well (grew up in Delaware). It’s just really hard to give someone advice on where to move without at least 3-5 key criteria they’re looking for.
Yeah, that seems fair - I will say that he would never piss and moan about taking ER (read uninsured, for the most part) patients and always did the right thing for them unlike some docs I had to deal with. But he wouldn’t be on my admittedly short list of “hey let’s grab a beer some time” - but I’m actively antisocial.
Same national pastime for LA, Atlanta, and Dallas. Chicago didn’t used to be on the list, but the city is SO financially fucked up that people are getting that way.
Didn’t renodoc win something pretty big in the last year or two and then they somehow ended up fucking him out of the money? I remember reading about it, and honestly being really fist-pumping happy about it, but cannot for the life of me remember the specific details.
