Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The million tests would apparently be like six million man hours of @beetlejuice clones making the baths, pipetting into the gel, placing in the reader, etc. Unless he meant he could do multiple tests in one run. That Korean dude was basically lauging at us in the article I linked saying it’s impossible to do this without using the machine that is way faster and automates all of that shit.

The TP thing is so idiotically human.

step in the shower, spread your ass treeks and rinse, you dumb motherfuckers

How much damn TP do people go though…

Dont know if its true but i girl i work with said she knows someone who said they ordered a pallet from Lowes, do they even sell it?, and the shipping was about the same as the pallet.

Wonder how much of this is people buying a ton to sell on eBay.

Gonna find out any day now that Nassim Taleb has been long TP since 1980 and has surpassed Bezos on the Forbes 100.

lol really the only reason to worry about TP is that everyone is buying all the TP. Wonder how this will affect production once this is over and no one has to buy TP for a year.

What does testing achieve, other than to harvest antibodies or earmark recovered individuals as fit to wade back into it?

the gal in suzzer’s post was continuing to work from home and avoid crowds after the recommended 72 hours

No shit

So if Seattle’s hospitals are about to be overwhelmed - how is the media not blasting that 24/7 and helping warn other hospitals - like Lawnmower Man’s what’s coming?

It’s genuinely freaking me out that people continue to go on with their lives like normal when we know a ton of pain is only a couple weeks away at most.

they’ll know soon enough.

every issue we face will be politicized henceforth… there’ll be opinion from one pole to the other. Post-truth, baby.

add the fact that this is a scare, maybe unrivaled in 100 years, and we’re honestly doing alright as a species.

I’m very pro-Mexico, but this seems insanely dumb to me.

I guess the leaders here think they lucked out and as long as other countries don’t bring it here, we’ll all be fine. I’m sure it’s already here in large #s, but there have been very few tests done so of course the # of “confirmed cases” is low. Whereas most other countries in the world are taking some precautions, it’s business as usual in Mexico with large public gatherings going off as scheduled (including a soccer match here in Mexico City Sunday night that will have 40k+).

I fear things will be extremely bad here, there are tens of millions living in extreme poverty and I’m afraid that tens of thousands, maybe more will die, and they’ll just sweep it under the rug like they’ve tried to do with tragedies in the past.

We’re so dumb and complacent that people barely even remember the biggest threat to human civilization and it hasn’t gone away.

an MGM employee tested positive and there are 19 games at the bellagio right now. probably 40 poker tables running total. south point is tweeting pictures of their packed house. if this thing is half as contagious as has been reported the whole town is fucked.

climate change? another example of a powerful minority reticent to do anything, and how it retards coordinated action.

Posted on FB. Apparently chicken mochi was the only thing left in the Trader Joes freezer. Pretty sure don’t want.

Love their butter chicken, that probably sold out in hours. Never tried that crap though.

Assuming all production stopped what would be the last food item left on the shelf?
