Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Made my second panic buy yesterday: a small bottle of bleach. Some gas station randomly had 20 bottles of the stuff. Dilute it in a spray bottle and you got redneck hand sanitizer. This was also the first time I ever purchased bleach despite its usefulness washing clothes.

Someone posted up thread a list of FDA approved disinfectants and I saw later the bleach was there. Score.

That’s 1918 shit. “Bring out your dead shit” (but I’m not dead yet- you will be!)

Take it. Trip report please. Good luck. Quite frankly it’s probably best as an individual to get a mild case and hopefully acquired immunity (unless of course you are worried about vulnerable people if you’ve had contact)

Sadly I don’t think they are testing yet for acquired immunity in the US. I believe they are undertaking a massive screen in China to understand that.

From what I’ve read, we would have to have a lot more deaths already to be anywhere near 100,000.

You can take the man out of the prosecutor’s office, but you can’t take the prosecutor out of the man.

Try pool supply stores for bleach. (Probably called “liquid shock” at the pool store.) Most of them should have started to get ready for the pool season in much of the country.

US similar to Iran in Smoking, not sure pollution is the reason trench graves are being dug in Iran.

Just far more likely Iran started spreading 3 weeks before USA

If people are dying and not being tested, their deaths might be attributed to the seasonal flu.

I can see it now on Fox: CDC reports that the flu killed 300,000 in 2020; CV-19 only 250. We told you stupid libs that the flu was worse.

Making the flu look worse is definitely one way of making the “its just a flu!” mantra true somehow.

Even though I was just mean to you in the other thread I don’t want you to get hurt, so, be careful to avoid mixing bleach with alcohol or lysol and ammonium-based cleaners, and when using bleach as a skin sanitizer dilute it A LOT then preferably wash it off with water.

Seriously people, I’m not worried about you properly disinfecting things, I’m worried about you accidentally cooking up some mustard gas.

p.s. Just had a flashback to arguing with HastenDan about while you can make dangerous stuff, you can’t actually macguyver up bombs with household supplies. Which lol, uh, kinda revealed I know a disturbing amount about the topic.

Yes, the bleach will be for surfaces and the like. Alcohol and soap for our hands. I will not be spraying bleach on our toddler. Well, not unless this all goes proper Mad Max, don’t want to rule anything out then.

Edit - Just did a freezer based run. All salmon and frozen veg like a proper middle class type. Still no real panic buying here, scored a shit load of lentil pasta.

Back in my pot washing days in the coops we mixed like a cap full of bleach in like a gallon of water. Standard health department rules so I was told.

Is anyone going to eat our at restaurants or are you already quarantining yourself? I’ve got a dope Asian fusion restaurant at the bottom of my apartment that is really clean, but maybe I’m being foolish.
