To be fair, authentic German sauerkraut is great stuff.

Perhaps, but it’s still nowhere near as good as authentic Korean kimchi. And even if one thought it better, there is no way it is ‘>>’ better.

Who the fuck is opening a jar of sauerkraut and just going to town on it straight up? Sauerkraut is a condiment. Kimchi you can open a jar and eat a ton straight and nobody is going to think you’re a stinky weirdo.

uhh, i’ve down multiple jars like that.

i like kimchi but i legit get a ratatouille moment when i taste good sauerkraut

you should think of sauerkraut as socialist and kimchi as kommunist.

I agree with socialist. A good sauerkraut is awesome. Better then kimchi although it’s awesome too.

They’re both great. No need to rank them IMO.

I think you can acquire the taste for Kimchi as an adult.

We went to Korea on a uni trip. Kimchi being gross was so accepted it was a recurring joke. We all hated it, but it was in everything.

After I came back, I somehow realised that I was missing it…

Alright, give me your best green vegetable Thanksgiving side. It’s something we always struggle with.

Basic roasted Brussels sprouts are good here
