Just wait to see what I have in store for our anniversary dinner next month. This will look positively puritan.

I’ve spent the last 3 hours watching Kenji cooking videos on Youtube. I could easily watch another 3.

My favorite Youtube cooking videos are him and Farideh. I also enjoy stuff on the Epicurious Youtube channel. On the other hand, I can seem to finish any Babish video.

I enjoy SortedFood for a mixture of cooking and general entertainment. I like gamified cooking channels.

I had some buttermilk in the refrigerator that was approaching its use by date, so I had pancakes for breakfast and they were so so. Leftover batter went back in the refrigerator for 6 or 7 hours and I just cooked another batch. Night and day flavor wise. Second batch was close to perfect.

This still seems like the kind of thing where if you throw some sauce on there it could be saved. Something like a chimichurri or a mayo/hotsauce mix.

Another batch and more progress. I’m having a hard time getting all of the loaves the same size, but I’m getting closer. Also think I can get better oven spring with better slashing technique.

Nah, I’m making sandwiches out of them and refusing to buy sliced bread at the store. They will be perfect for french dips or cheesesteaks and I’m daydreaming about making these one day:

If I were pumping out rolls like that on a regular basis, there’d be just one sandwich I’d be making with them:

I’ve never had a bahn mi with egg. I’ll have to try it.

Yeah I make something like that too although I’ll use fake ground beef in it usually.

I made jerk chicken tonight. I got some flare ups on the grill so I think I went past caramelization to burnt on the skin. Chicken in good though. The real treat is that this is made with scotch bonnets from our own garden. About twice as hit as store bought, I’m on fire. :fire:
