My “I’m not a Nazi” shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt
It’s a territory. My point was that people who moved to get away from one place tend to be dismissive of that place
No they are not. Especially not when unrelated people speak of it.
Then why do some 39% of Latinos support Trump? Or Muslims or Blacks for that matter? Why isn’t it zero?
Because a lot of the culture war stuff resonates with them. It’s a giant tug of war between that and the R base’s overt racism.
The Trump campaign worked for over a year to pander to Latino and black men. Might have just undone a bunch of that in one swoop.
So you’re saying fuck lgbtq >>> fuck my own ethnicity?
I’m asking. I don’t know the answer
The leader of the Proud Boys is Hispanic. Hispanics been quasi-white for a while.
Trump’s campaign has gone out of its way to court black men and let them feel included in MAGA. Not because he cares about them of course, but because siphoning off 10% of the black vote is a path to victory.
Things are very different than the 60s when you had a coalition of liberal whites and blacks vs. 100% racist whites. Battle lines are becoming less racial and more identity-based.
I totally get why Trump is trying to siphon off a percentage. I totally don’t get why he succeeded in doing so. Can you explain the psychology of that? Why doesn’t my explanation make sense that a Hispanic leader of a racist group feels assimilated enough into white culture that he’s comfortable supporting a candidate who is racist to Hispanics?
People aren’t just one thing, man.
I think it’s more like they overlook the racism and focus on the culture war stuff, until the racism gets thrown in their face so hard they have to deal with it.
Other than nazi rallies, Trump’s campaign is 100% trans panic and border crisis right now. He has no other platform. Apparently that stuff resonates with a certain type of person. The idea is to get those people so worked up that they don’t think about Trump at all.
Yeah, I mean this irritated me too, though the reasons and effects were different.

This has to be among the dumbest timelines if an unfunny racist joke from an edgelord comic opening for a deranged Nazi party meeting saves our democracy. I’ll take it, but still.
Isn’t opposite of a nazi basically a communist?
“nazi bad. I’m good”
Don’t overthink
I’m skeptical that the “LatinX” thing that extremely online people were talking about a year ago is the reason Dems aren’t winning real-life Latino voters.
