People just get scared cuz they love roll tide and really don’t want the party to stop, simple as that.
If they need to twist themselves into a pretzel claiming that the real victims are the women’s water polo teams, sobeit.

How much is a college education worth?
The coaches are a big part of it too but I agree with this post.
There’s also all the people involved trainers etc…
And you have no problem with the current status of collegiate athletes? If you do, then what is that problem?
Because your posts make it sound like you’re cool with the way things are. Either that or you’re trolling us.
Let’s just agree to disagree.
I can’t argue vs 7 people. Someone has already misquoted themselves. My words have been twisted. Someone’s linked a segment that wasn’t even 5 minutes in before a ridiculous claim was made.
I didn’t say I was against the decision I simply provided some nuance to an overused, extreme hot take.
I have an idea, why don’t you say your position instead of “providing some nuance”. That will make for a better discussion. You seem to refuse to do so, which is odd.
I’m not going to rehash past points I’ve made on the subject, but I will always be on the side of labor in these debates. Especially when the job very often leads to CTE and unpaid athletes hanging themselves because they’re pissing their pants and forgetting their parents’ names.
Except all you did was demonstrate your ignorance of the issue by making your points so poorly that you put yourself on the side of labor exploitation.
Then when people put you on the spot to get a clear statement out of you, you run away with your tail between your legs.
Seeing that you’re claiming to “argue vs 7 people”, it leads me to believe that you aren’t adding nuance to our points. Rather, you’re attempting to weaken our position by muddying the waters with each post you make.
Annual reminder to stop watching (especially college) football
You know I have a ton of respect for you.
You know what I do for a living so I am on the side of labor.
Do you think any of my posts don’t reflect that?
Hi, FuncrusherPlus, what is your opinion on college athletes being allowed to profit from their NIL?
Thank you,
Yuv.
Nothing but love for ya. I just think living in SEC country has probably influenced the way you view college sports / athletes. If the college game needs to die, let it die. The price these athletes are paying in terms of long term brain damage to make Alabama / Auburn / Flordia / LSU billions is nauseating to me.
I stopped caring much about Ok St basketball after we got the Thunder. I’m sure that influences the way I think about college athletics.
It’s a step in the right direction. I don’t think just because someone is apprehensive means they are a racist.
Apprehensive about what? I never asked about racism. There was a link to a forum discussion that was clearly racist, so I’m still very confused at what you are arguing.
You mentioned “agree to disagree” a few times, but if you agree that allowing college athletes to get paid for their NIL is a positive step, what are we disagreeing about?
For many D1 athletes, the answer is likely $0, especially if they’re not prepared to be able to succeed in college.
Why should colleges be allowed to claim that the potential to earn a degree is somehow commensurate with pay for services rendered?
The title of this thread is about the recent NIL laws.
The first post links a forum topic that, honestly, seems onion.
Either way why find the worst example of a discussion and then make that the subject of conversation?
I’ve been meaning to bring this up but haven’t due to the aggressive response I received last time it was discussed when I mentioned NIL legislation brewing.
That’s on me for being soft.
So the answer is not to give them a chance?
Respond/don’t respond doesn’t matter.
Out of respect for 2 people itt, one who played the game and another who kept the discussion within the scope of facts, I’m gonna shut up.
Thx for the replies.
I’d assume most people understood this. But that’s is more or less how players getting paid works/would work. It’s not the college cutting the player a check. It’s some booster paying the kid as long as he plays for their team.
Well I still haven’t heard a single good argument as to why this change shouldn’t happen. The only argument I read from you is that you fear the magic might be gone. I’m sure you know that’s not an actual argument.
I’m still unsure if you have such arguments but do not want to share them or you are trying to protect the feelings of people who are not you but might have such arguments and are not racists.
