i’m coming to realize it won’t matter that this will fizzle out… if you’re a neutral reading clickbait headlines or a rival picking and choosing, you 100% will always say “michigan cheated” and no amount of nuance or facts will matter.
nor should they. you got caught. and for a week, some pr firm somewhere lined up a slow drip of sensational headlines. logic won’t matter. “everyone does it and how much better can in-person cell phone video from 30 rows back be than the all-22 and/or telecast view, both of which are fine?”.
psu/o$u are basically free-rolling this year, if you lose they cheated if you win you’re god. which sucks. as it should.
they’re not good because of some vast, sweeping surveillance campaign, they’re good because they have nfl talent at every position.
it’s just… this year??! this couldn’t have happened in a 9-4 year? i’ll remember these last two michigan teams like i remember the late 90’s teams, ~greatest qb/rb combo of my lifetime, greatest offensive line of my lifetime, a wr on pace for like 18 td’s, one of if not the greatest defense and a prodigal son head coach who we love and everyone else hates maybe making good and winning our first, actual, win-it-on-the-field national championship…
“nope, they cheated.”
you idiot, spoiled rich kid macgyver, manifesto-writing loser fuckwit. i’d fight that guy with 1 second of notice
last two years have been the best two back to back years that i can remember, and when basically everyone came back one more year, the anticipation has been “holy shit they’re for real the best team in the country” for most of a year, and it’s turned into harbaugh being suspended for the first 3 games for a cheeseburger and this “cheating scandal” that has allowed and will continue to allow every other fanbase to hand-wave away all of that.
it shouldn’t bother me, it does. i should probably get used to it and just look at it like, “well… there’s only one thing left to do then, boys”.
