Incel is a label coined by misogynists who apply this label to themselves. In their minds, they’re involuntarily celibate because women are withholding sex from them, sex they believe they’re entitled to. They are a victim of some sort of conspiracy by women and they hate them for that. They use the term incel to declare their status as a victim.
Of course, virtually no one is involuntarily celibate. The phrase itself is absurd. They could get laid or get a girlfriend or a wife. They could treat women like they’re humans, give them the same respect any person deserves, and stop blaming women for their own faults. When they say no women wants them, they could treat women outside of Ariana Grande as though they exist. If they started doing these things, they’d find out it their status as an incel was all along completely voluntary.
Giving credibility to the assertion that the term incel is shaming someone for their sex life is giving credibility to their belief that women put them into this situation against their will. The belief they use to justify their hatred.

As noted earlier, incel started as a support group for people having difficulty making social connections. It was coined by a woman. It was later coopted as a misogynistic movement of mostly young men who focus their hatred on women and blame them for all their ills. They are a very toxic and dangerous subculture.
Good points. I would be careful with the idea that almost nobody is involuntarily celibate. There are lots of examples of people who are. Perhaps the most obvious one is the disabled community. Many disabled people face serious difficulty in establishing sexual relationships for social and physical reasons. Another group would be those afflicted with psychological diseases.
And of course, the other group of interest is those who are voluntarily celibate. Research suggest about 1:100 are asexual.
