Bump this thread when terrible famous people die

Sounds like bullshit to me. She was forced to sign an NDA in order to keep her work study job? And she didnā€™t even know what happened until her boss told her for no reason? Promising to hide information from a murder prosecution? And she kept her word for 30 years? That dosenā€™t make any sense at all.

Lol, ā€œI was just handed a bombshell in the most infamous criminal prosecution in the world, but I donā€™t want to risk my part-time 5$ per hour work study position. Guess I have to sign a contract agreeing to commit perjury!ā€

If I was OJ Simpson, I would have written an entire series of ā€œIf I Did Itā€ books confessing to unsolved crimes. Jack the Ripper, the Zodiac Killer, Tupac, JonBenĆ©t Ramsey, etc. Would have been a legendary troll.

My son told me that all anybody was talking about at school yesterday was OJā€™s death. Itā€™s funny that all they really know about him is that heā€™s a murderer. My son knew he ā€œplayed football,ā€ but that was it.

Do NDAs typically become null and void when someone dies like this? I donā€™t get it.

IANAL but maybe there is no actionable party any more if the NDA was between her and him. Who has standing to sue?

Sheā€™s lying, none of this happened.

So many questions about this

  • How do you study to be a criminal defense lawyer as an undergrad?

  • Why did her boss have cigarettes on him if he quit years ago?

  • USC covered up the assaults after they were reported to the police?

  • The victims reported the assaults together?

  • The ā€œblonde whiteā€ girl identifier is a nice touch. OJ must have a type!

  • Why would Kardashian go in person to deliver a payoff check in broad daylight when USC has already had this under wraps for 30 years?

  • She changed her major because she was shocked at how corrupt the system is? But she is the one who was bought off!

And what on earth would OJs death have to do with any of this? Her contract was supposedly with USC. Iā€™m pretty sure the University isnā€™t being buried with him?

Wait a minute - maybe this is one of those riddles where it turn out that OJ was her boss.

An NDA is just a type of contract, so the parties could agree that the agreement stops at death. In this particular situation, however, it seems like the University would want to keep this info quiet even after OJ died, so Iā€™d think they would have wanted it to keep going.

Uhhh yeah if the nda is not in effect then whatā€™s the full name of the person who posted that story

The estate? Iā€™ve got no idea. Iā€™m just guessing.

Lawbros?

It would be difficult for an estate or a relative to show that they were damaged by any defamation or breaching the NDA.

Canā€™t they just claim emotional distress. That seems like a common strat in spots like this.

A relative isnā€™t a party to the NDA.

Well, thatā€™s a different issue, which is why I initially limited to estate.

I guess the argument for that would be something like the market for OJ merch takes a hit affecting any revenue that the estate gets for that even after his death. Iā€™m just spitballing here.

The main thing that doesnā€™t add up about her story is that USC is the interested party in keeping that NDA active, and USC is very much still alive.

I agree with that. TrollyWantACrackerā€™s points are valid. I find it very hard to believe this is true. At best, I suspect there is the smallest kernel of truth in there and a massively embellished story constructed around it.

For all we know some drunk ip lawyer told her it cancels on death ten years ago and she just ran with it. USC might be surprised. Although pursuing her for breach would make them look even worse if any of itā€™s true.

Thereā€™s a pretty awesome thread about how OJ died from vaccine caused ā€œturbo-cancerā€ on ChiefsPlanet right now.
