damn 10 psychoactives feels like 9 more than necessary
Youâre not much of a drug user, I take it.
true. i live in a state with legalized weed, and itâs pretty much the most i hope to ever need
When you start stacking drugs itâs not really about need. Itâs more like trying to curate an experience. Start with drinks, smoke a bit. Take some MDMA. Do whippits while you wait to come up. Have a Viagra. Smoke a bit more. Drop some acid when youâre rolling good. Ride the trip out. Smoke some more. Munch some Ambien on the downside, maybe chase it with a beer or two. Thatâs a pretty great 12 hours right there.
thatâs not how taylor hawkins went.
Iâm a bit behind, but itâs time for me to post my extremely controversial foo fighters hot take, which is extremely controversial in two ways.
The Foo Fighters are actually a one hit wonder, because most of their music really isnât very good. But that one hit may be the single greatest song ever made.
It should be impossible for anyone to simultaneously hold these two views, but here we are.
wat
Iâm obviously here for the punishment on this one, but it is a weird view I have of them. Everlong is probably one of a handful of songs that I would potentially call my favorite song of all-time and yet I literally never find myself wanting to listen to anything else theyâve made.
I donât really like FF and for the most part theyâre a pass especially some of their bigger hits like âmy heroâ but not only is everlong really really good but this is also a terrifically great rock song
Foo Fighters have a few good songs but the lots of really meh boring stuff.
Foo fighters CD are very top heavy. The singles are good to very good. Lots of filler.
Never been a huge fan but calling them a one hit wonder is borderline retarded.
Monkey wrench
Rope
Pretender
My hero
You can list like ten. Orr songs
Everlong is actually the best song ever. I will give you that one
In all seriousness, I can understand the sentiment of Foo Fighters not being very good because I can understand the sentiment that any band isnât very good if it isnât your type of music. For me, Iâm a sucker for loud, singable (screamable?) music and especially songs that build from measured restraint to an all out frenzy, and FF are undoubtedly the king at both of those. I donât listen to FF to learn something or feel feelings. (With exceptions). I listen to them because theyâre a blast of energy for me and it feels good on my ear drums
Been avoiding listening to this for a while now because I didnât feel like crying. Almost made it
No.
I guess I find it pretty silly to call them a one hit wonder, because the very notion of the word âhitâ suggests broad commercial success and popularity regardless of oneâs own take on the song in question, and the Foo Fighters objectively have many more than one of those.
The thing Iâm most confused about is someone thinking that Everlong is in the GOAT conversation, but doesnât enjoy ANYTHING else theyâve done. Like, what?
How can someone not like The Pretender
