Carter was the only American president in my lifetime with a shred of decency. I think the world would be a much better place today had he been re-elected.
Carter was an economic neoliberal who pushed for deregulation and the fiscal conservatism of deficit reduction, moving away from the New Deal. Letâs not forget this was a man whose opposition to national health care led to an unsuccessful primary challenge by Ted Kennedy. He may have been a decent man, but he wasnât a good president.

I guess âAll presidents were all bad presidentsâ is a reasonable take, but I think, in general people are judging these things on a relative scale.
