+1. This was my favorite question primarily because it’s the hardest to just handwave away. It not as disgusting a view as the slavery stuff, but it’s the easiest dunk.

If he wanted to, he could claim that it’s a choice to buy things and therefore to pay sales tax, but you have no choice but to give up part of your money to the government with an income tax. You or I could pick holes in that argument, but I can see how it would make sense to some people.

Nope. He already began with the premise that taxation=theft of one’s income. This is a problem if you’re using your income to buy stuff. You’re going to have to walk that back before you apply your argument, which also, as you acknowledge, has problems.

And the states where even food has a sales tax?

I don’t think he has a fully-formed political philosophy. He needs to figure out in a way that makes sense to him what works and what doesn’t. He hasn’t spent years discussing this in an internet forum, I’m guessing.

Some background on him as he mentioned UA earlier. He attended there only for a year or so, I went there as well. He has in the past told me I got brainwashed as a liberal there which made no sense since UA is still very very conservative. If I remember he based this off of me having a close connection with one of my professors who is Turkish.

He goes with a lot of the ole “college doesn’t teach you the truth, you can learn without going there” which obviously you can learn on your own and I have no issue with people going or not going to college. I just have a bit of an issue with people that get their info from YouTube trying to talk down to people that did graduate from college about such things.

Also I was into Ron Paul when I was at UA so it doesn’t really check out at the most basic level.

He’s also under the impression that I can’t possibly believe in progressive values and I’m just out here virtue signaling and doing it to please my Liberal wife, who is not that liberal.

When my guests show up waving Confederate flags around, they don’t get tested nicely.

He showed up with a proven racist username. I think he was treated as an appropriate guest under the terms in which he was invited and received.

I honestly was surprised at the username, we hadn’t even talked about that recently and I think he was really just looking to get banned quickly and then try to go back to me with the whole “your snowflake lib friends are really intolerant etc etc”

One might even have called it a red Confederate flag.

Although I felt uncomfortable at first with the speed and volume with which the questions were coming at him, it rapidly became clear that he had no interest (or ability?) in having a good-faith discussion.

He was having a hard enough time even remembering the MAGA talking points.

Where did he go after UA? Or was that all the college he ever had?

That was it

He aped it from some YT commenter I’d guess.

@Heritagenothate Would you be up to live commenting on one of a Trump’s Daily Press Briefings and give your interpretation of what is being said?

We are willing to pay you for your time to the same extent Trump has or has not stiffed people he hired.

Also, dunks don’t work if you haven’t laid a proper predicate. People just assumed a bunch of positions and views he held and went about dunking on that. It’s obnoxious and lazy.
