If Britney’s parents, managers and lawyers had screwed over the record companies then something might happen to them. But it looks like they did whatever they could to keep the free money train rolling for everyone so the ruling capitalists won’t care that they made Britney a slave.
You’d need to get the MAGA crew on her side for them to face any dangers so I’ve been told.
I don’t think her dad will turn out to be the worst person in this story. If this is truly as unusual and suspicious as every lawyer I’ve heard who works in this area claims, then a key piece of information would be if a group/team that attempted this scheme on multiple women fitting the same profile is behind it, because that isn’t just “the courts being flawed.” It’s an organized crime ring.
A good portion of the legal profession operates like an organized crime ring with law firms looking for the right parties with deep pockets so they can make their “big scores”. It’s all perfectly legal and normal, even if it’s predatory in nature. Nothing is happening to these people. They never bill for reasonable expenses. They milk the cow until the teets fall off and then go looking for another one.
Everyone expects lawyers to be blood sucking leeches just looking for an angle to make some money. But to be betrayed by your own father, who as conservator I’m assuming could grant most or all of her requests as well as not draw any fees or salary, that’s the real fucked up part. He may not be the most intrinsically evil person involved, but he betrayed his own daughter in a way no one ever should.

This was sort of hinted at but was hard to follow in the New Yorker article. A guy tried this with Courtney Love, Lindsay Lohan and showed up in Brittany’s life. I don’t know if he was exiled or he was one of the dad’s voices.
But for sure there have been strong forces from the beginning. But if they dad had any decency he could have pushed gif change.

Ideological consistency has never been a strong suit of the pro-life mob, but the typical pro-lifers motivation is more about punishing women for making choices they don’t agree with then it is about ensuring procreation. In this case Britney is already being punished so there’s no need to get involved.

Weren’t conservatives the driving force behind forced sterilization? Seems they are fine with the state telling women when they can and can’t have babies, their concern is just when the individual women get to make that decision.
Maybe they don’t realise her situation…

It’s basically impossible that there weren’t crimes committed in this case. They filed for a probate conservatorship and checked the dementia box.

That’s probably because probate conservatorships in California are not psychiatric in nature. The Petition for Probate Conservator (Form GC-310) [1] requires a capacity declaration [2] from a licensed physician or psychologist with at least 2 years of experience diagnosing major neurocognitive disorders / dementia.
Mental health or LPS conservatorships are used for severe mental illness and (rarely) severe alcoholism and cannot be initiated by an outside party:
A mental health conservatorship is different from a probate conservatorship. It is used only for people who have a psychiatric disorder so severe that it prevents them from providing for their most basic personal needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. The legal term is gravely disabled.
Family members or other private parties cannot start a mental health conservatorship. Only the professional treatment staff at the hospital where the person is being treated can begin the process.

This type of conservatorship should only be granted in cases of extreme disability or indisputable incapacity. This is really fucking bad, and stuff like this is why people who know they’re very mentally sick are often so scared to accept medical care.

Apparently a non-doctor can just say someone has dementia and the judge can say “ok,” no medical exam required?
It doesn’t necessarily mean that the conservatorship was granted for a major neurocognitive disorder, but rather that they checked the box for it (according to multiple sources including Farrow). That’s probably splitting hairs a bit but I don’t think we know too many specifics since her conservators request that nearly every document be placed under seal. Her dad spent $900,000 of her money on his own lawyers in like 90 days, just an unimaginably massive piece of shit.
This happens in probate all the time, btw. Sleazeball gets POA, kids sue, sleazeball exhausts the estate fighting it. Judge shrugs.
Unfortunately, a lot of judges are pretty ignorant about medical/psychiatric issues.
At Britney’s age, dementia can only be due major brain trauma from a catastrophic illness or severe head injury, neither of which has been alleged. There is 0% chance that someone could have dementia and perform in Vegas like she was doing.
She’s probably gonna have to fade getting Epsteined.
