Binding Vote - Concerning Election and Reelection of Moderators

Immediately following that:

Bruce told you what you should do, and what would happen if you do nothing. Don’t feign shock and outrage when exactly what was foretold would happen when you do nothing transpires when you do nothing.

The ratified rules speak for the forum, and poll results speak for the forum. Bruce was relaying them accurately.

That exchange was 10 days ago, and neither you nor anyone else did anything. As ratified in our RFC rule, we can move to binding vote based on a majority vote on the proposed ruling after the required time. In the interest of good faith, I gave more time to you to see if you would follow through, and you just didn’t. If you want to require that there are up and down votes for every clause of a proposed rule, then start an RFC to update our RFC process rule.

No, also from marksman.

Who cares? I put together a proposal that accurately reflects forum sentiment as judged by the polls in the thread and that met ratified standards to go to a community vote, and no one put together anything more popular despite having ample time and opportunity. If this gets ratified, you can start a new RFC to amend it according to our approved process if you think you have a better and more popular proposal. Or, if you think this is a good rule but object to the process by which I put it up to a vote in toto rather than piecemeal, then start an RFC to change our rule making process (and change your vote to yes on this proposal).

Posts matter, votes don’t?

Whatever guys. I’m done engaging with your empty complaints.

Drama is caused by people having strongly-held opinions and refusing to back down or let it go. More rules won’t stop dedicated drama queens, although they may make it easier for some people to ignore them.

To suggest that I didn’t engage (with you, or with the community at large) is absurd to the point that it looks like bad faith. Anyone can see that I spoke to the concerns you raised and offered you a path forward if you wanted to pursue them.

I’m pleased that you’ve overcome your doubts about modding forever, and hope that the new rules will help you to achieve this.

I’m glad to see that you’ll begrudgingly accept community sentiment rather than ceaselessly pursuing your own personal vendettas.

I always prefer truth and accuracy, even if unpleasant, to vendettas - the latter are the stuff of small men.

Ah, yes, process arguments. Process arguments. They’re always done in good faith. Which political party is always making process arguments again in the US? I can’t remember for some reason…

What it boils down to is that other posters think that those posters are unjustified in their complaints and refuse to give in for the sake of creating a negative peace which is the absence of tension. There are irreconcilable differences. Drama ensues because one side chooses to keep arguing and the other side chooses to respond.

Let’s be honest here. If your primary goal is the removal of said mod, you’re probably going to lose repeatedly, and the drama will continue if there are continued complaints about said mod, which will happen. The end to this occurs when either you get fed up and leave or you complain enough that you wear people down and they give in to you or you complain enough that people get sufficiently annoyed to change the rules and empower mods to moderate your complaining more harshly. Or you just give up, but I don’t think anyone expects you to do that.

That’ be a really great argument if a) I was American or b) the person making the argument had any knowledge of life outside America.

Lol. Literally nobody in this thread believes you give a shit about mod term limits and literally everyone knows this is all about your petty feud against some current mods who dared to interfere with your trolling.

You’re quite wrong. I’ve consistently argued for a wider spread of mods for short terms, and for them to become a mod again after a break of a term (if they want to). But I suspect you know that anyway and the accusations of trolling are more of the usual projection. :slightly_smiling_face:

So how do we go about creating a rule that banishes this horseshit discussion to French BBV? Do I need to make a request for comments thread first? Maybe a request for poll wording thread? The forum should have banished all this forum drama to French BBV months ago, but instead you all were allowed you vent and complain in ATF with the hopes that maybe you would be satisfied with whatever rules came out of the mess you started. But let’s face it, you never gave any kind of a fuck about the process. All you ever cared about was Wookie getting demodded.
