Scanning her wiki, I have to say I agree with most of her stated policy positions. Otherwise still seems a little nutty.

I’m old enough when we all got really mad at Trump for doing something similar. At least the guy can (barely) read a couple half ass jokes off a teleprompter though. What a cool dude.

That’s certainly what the airlines will say.
I’ll reserve judgment until I see the actual rule, but Canada implemented a similar rule recently and it is absolutely toothless. Way too many loopholes for the airlines to claim it isn’t their fault and they shouldn’t have to pay.

DOT regulations for when passengers are due a refund for a rescheduled flight if they choose not to take the later flight are decided on a case-by-case basis. I would expect something similar and for precedents to be set. I think something like the Southwest apocalypse would count as being caused by the airlines.
