He wasnât picked out in particular. Biden commuted the sentences of all 1500 federal prisoners who had been granted home confinement during COVID and he was just one of them. He had served 10 years in prison and 3 years in home confinement out of a 17.5 year sentence.

This is probably true of every slate of end-of-term presidential pardons ever, Iâm not sure why you make it sound sinister? Did you think Obama was personally reviewing all of the thousands of pardons he issued? I imagine the President gives broad direction to a staff of lawyers who come up with a list of names for pardons and the POTUS signs off on it.

I guess itâs no big shame to have not been aware of the facts. Most of the people writing articles on it didnât even seem to know that it was part of a mass action and that this person had already served 14 years of the sentence.
