There has been a lot of reports on r/sportsbook of DK limits over the last few weeks. I have been sticking to ML bets. Luckily I am “down” a few thousand on there over the last few months.
I’m not a sports betting guy. I downloaded DraftKings on a bachelor party so we could all bet on some NFL games together (lol that went well).
I’ve still got a few hundred bucks on there. I notice a ton of promotions and stuff and get notifications all the time. Do any of those promos push bets into neutral or +EV territory if I know nothing about the teams? Or are they just roping you into sucker bets? I see a ton of them tied to single game parlays and shit so I assume they’re all sucker bets, just curious.

It seems like when you get limited on a book you’re just done. Were you ever contacted by a VIP host on DK? You might try reaching out through them and seeing if they can do anything or find out why you were limited.
Yes, some of the promos are massively +EV. Unfortunately the biggest promo usually has to do with your first bet so you might have missed out on that. The SGP promos you’re referencing are right around neutral EV imo. Something like bet $10 a SGP, get a free $3 bet. DK heavily juices there SGPs so not much EV in something like that.
FD had an amazing weekly promo during the baseball season where some of us were just printing money. Was heavily discussed in this thread. Zero chance they bring that back though. Perhaps maybe for just one week.
I somehow haven’t gotten limited on DK. Up a bit on the site, but have never withdrawn and don’t plan on doing so unless I get limited or absolutely need the money.

Honestly feel like 95% of DK customers don’t realize it’s possible to get limited. Spanky on twitter has an ok podcast, and has been a professional for like 20 years. You’d think that anybody who follows him and listens to the podcast would be well informed. Then he has a twitter spaces and you realize that 80% of his followers are mouthbreathers. It’s incredible.
Hmm now I’m not sure this is right either. This 1099-K thing is going to be a giant mess. I don’t really see how I can reconcile this all.
Example: I deposit $500 on DraftKings, make a bet and win $500. Then I cashout $1,000. This results in $1k showing up on the 1099-K form. I think I just need to wait and see what the sportsbooks issue for tax forms and also keep the file of PayPal transactions for the year as a record to show all the deposits made.
I’m probably not placing another bet until I figure out how fucked up my taxes are going to be.
