I’m sure that business is actually a small business though. As far as I know that program was not means tested. I wonder how many employees they have and if they actually used to the money to keep them on payroll.
Well, my wife signed a job offer letter just now. Crossing my fingers that nothing falls through before she starts in a couple weeks.
Bonus: They aren’t working in the office until at least 2021, so they aren’t dumb. Wait, maybe having her in the house the rest of the year is bad for me.
Congrats man. Getting employed by a company who wont be in office til at least 2021 is a huge win.
I’ve got two interviews this week, both with places in currently open CA counties (this may change any time in the next few hours-days, as they are rising considerably) that I’m quite certain are still working in office.
Not really sure what Ill do if I get an offer that requires me to be in office in the next few weeks.
Question for those itt.
Hypothetically, a married couple made 140K in 2018 and 160K in 2019.
They were eligible for the first round of stimulus as they hadn’t filed their 2019 taxes. The second round of stimulus MAY have them eligible based on 2018 taxes but not 2019 taxes, it also may drop eligibility below 140K.
Should that couple request an extension for their 2019 taxes?
Nah, they’ll tax it back from you anyway.
Even if expected income in 2020 is under 80K?
I thought they didn’t end up putting any teeth into the taxing back mechanism. I think if you end up making less in 2020 they’ll fix it by increasing your 2020 refund (so like 9 months too late for it to matter or whatever because lol Congress) but I don’t think they penalize you if you got more than you should have initially. I’ll admit I could be wrong though.
We are doing an extension as well.
Want to get that second stimulus payment in October
So if I made under the threshold in 2018, but likely over it in 2019 and 2020, I should file an extension? I guess it’s basically a freeroll, right?
Sickening.
This was my understanding as well.
That’s my hope
Did anyone here ever get UE for self-employment? I tried to apply back in April and there wasn’t even a way for me to possibly file it as SE then. Checked more recently and there was some insane rules matrix about the income amounts required per quarter that would disqualify me for any single tax year I could provide. Is that typical? My business is largely seasonal with large swings in income between both years and quarters.
I got my first 5 weeks then a problem with week 6. Even though weeks 7-14 said ok to pay I got nothing. Week 6 problem got corrected 10 days ago. Still nothing.
I emailed my state rep today. Online reports of success with the route.
Did it begin from the date you filed or date you were affected? I’m not seeing a place on this form for me to claim I was technically unemployed on March 26 due to COVID. It just says my effective date is today. My expectations of seeing any actual money from this are low so not sure if it’s worth filing since I think it’s a bit of a negative freeroll–could be drawing to $0 and a lot of harassment over a legit gambling business they don’t understand.
The correct answer is that I should have just been Tom Brady.
In PA I was able to list my last day of work which was around 3/31. I then got paid for every week ending in April plus May 2 (Saturday is the week’s end).
The chief of staff at my State rep has already gone back and forth with me three times in an hour via email. Sounds like they are highly experienced at this game now. Even delivered with some personality and humor.
Hopefully I hear from PUA soon (lol what it’s called here).
I got ~5 weeks and then haven’t received payment for the following 4 weeks. I chatted with a rep who said the “fraud issue” has been fixed and I should receive those other weeks soon. I should have just started a cult, er church.
