Bailout / Stimulus Discussion (Hints Missed & Shartz Fired)

Happy for you man. Hopefully you get the invitation to the EIDL portal soon with the loan info.

I also got that this morning. Things moved very fast.

Meanwhile, I applied for the EIDL within the first couple days it was available, got the $1k months ago, and still have not been contacted any further about anything. Well oiled machine imo.

Wtf. Sorry to hear that. I hope things advance soon for you.

Oh I don’t care if they don’t. I’m not really interested in the loan. I just find the chaos amusing.

The EIDL was weird it just showed up out of nowhere two weeks ago and then took just a few days to get the bigger loan.

FWIW I did end up taking a bigger EIDL. No personal guarantees, but they do get a claim on collateral. We’re a service business, so it’s not like we have inventory or machinery or anything like that. If it ever comes to a point where we literally can’t make the payments and they want to come for our desks or whatever, the EIDL will be the least of our worries.

The no personal guarantee seems a bit crazy to me. How many small businesses, even successful ones, make it 30 years? Seems like everyone business should take it.

Id recommend calling the SBA. I had the same experience and when I called I waited on hold for maybe 10 minutes and had a login 5 minutes later and an approved loan within an hour of picking up the phone.

ETA-just saw your follow up post so maybe nm.

It appears my apartment manager quit or was fired without notice and set our rent for July to $0 on his way out the door. LOL legend. Of course the company fixed that asap, but I’ll pour one out for his heroism.

Reminds me of a guy I knew who worked at Blockbuster many moons ago. On his last day of work, NO ONE had late fees. Oh damn, $100 for keeping Con Air off shelf for a month? No worries, we have erased your debt.

Boies Schiller (yes, that David Boies, the Harvey Weinstein-defending, ostensibly liberal lawyer best known for losing Bush v. Gore) got a large PPP loan. Profits per partner: $3,400,000 annually.

Don’t ever buy wine from Phase 2 Cellars.

I found mine in the data and predictably there is incorrect information. It claims I retained 10 jobs as an independent contractor…lol. I bet this mistake is all over independent contractor loan data which means this list is probably bulls**** for the under $150k people.

Doesn’t look like they release anything under that name.

Hey man times are tough. Can’t we all just be glad Tom Brady got the help he needed?

Sure he has a super model wife, hundreds of millions of dollars and a bunch of Super Bowl rings, but you can’t put a price on saving a hundred-millionaire’s business!

Totally.

Handouts to the poor are socialism, and that’s wrong.

Handouts to the rich are capitalism, and that’s right.

What a country we’ve got right now.
