Got my stimulus check on the 1st, deposited via phone app.

Checking my account to see if the check was deposited and I see an additional deposit for $1000. Must have been EIDL.

Got an email today asking for additional documents from Kabbage. Apparently my driver’s licence didn’t upload properly. Uploaded another picture of it, and a couple of hours later my loan documents were ready to sign.

Money should be in my account by the 15th.

I don’t think this merits its own thread, but I’d love to get as many opinions as possible on just how warped my brain is…

There’s a low wage earner at my workplace who has a handicapped child. She doesn’t make much money and neither does her husband. They are hard workers and toil to do everything they can to get by. They have a lot of credit card debt. None of this debt went for anything lavish. Just necessary bills they couldn’t afford. She said they use their credit card to buy work clothes, etc.

They’ve called the credit card company and turns out they are giving a two month reprieve, but are still charging interest during those two months! This incenses me! These fucking banks make billions in profits and can’t go a month without asking for a bailout and then they turn around and say fuck you to a hard working family and can’t even give them a break on interest?! I can’t even begin to describe how much this infuriates me

I’m fortunate. I still have income because I can work from home. I pay everything with a credit card, but pay it off in full each month. I value the fact that I am building very good credit. But…

At first, I jokingly thought that I should stiff on my credit cards (I happen to know that two of my cards are the same companies that her family is dealing with). Then I thought, maybe this isn’t a joke? What if I really did do that? What if EVERYONE did that? What if everyone just said fuck you to these greedy cockroaches and just defaulted on their debt, so that the bailout fails?

Can this be a movement started by the American people to show that we don’t have to take being robbed by big banks and big corporations anymore? I mean, sure. It would kind of be morally wrong like stealing. But what do you call what these big banks and companies do? They are stealing as well. I’m by and large a capitalist, but I’m an authentic capitalist. That means you don’t bail out big banks or corporations. They should go be required to restructure through a bankruptcy court like everyone else. That way, their employees and taxpayers don’t get stiffed when they get bailed out. Capitalism isn’t supposed to protect billionaire shareholders stuck in a bad investment with tax dollars.

Anyway, I was just curious if it would it be feasible to start a movement where everyone starts stiffing the banks. And then when this covid dies down workers of these big corporations strike and refuse to show up. I mean, we obviously can’t throw out the crooks or get rid of corruption through elections and this seems a time where it is most obvious who the REAL essential workers are! They aren’t the CEOs of large corporations. They are the workers who without them, these CEOs have nothing. I actually think this is the most vulnerable the elite has ever been. Maybe it will show them who really deserves more pay and they can’t keep shitting on their workers

I know it sounds crazy, but it’s just a thought… I’d be willing to screw up my credit to show the banks. But obviously those with mortgages would be taking too big of a risk. Not sure what else I (as someone who’s vote simply does not matter to anyone in power), can do.

How much of a loan did you get, and do the loan docs reflect the $1,000 being a grant?

$3900 and no.

Interested to see if you get $3900 more or $2900 more.

Is that PPP, Jim?

$3900 is the amount of the PPP.

My acct advised me that I’d do better with Unemplemt insurance (UI) plus EIDL.

Also PPP and UI are completely or partially exclusive. (One counts against the other or you are not supposed to get both for a sole propertier situation.

Congrats. Hopefully all of Us that get “loans” don’t get a nasty surprise at the end.

As an independent contractor, I wonder how I’m supposed to show this money goes to payroll. I get paid via 1099 and that money just goes into my personal account.

A portion of my rent and utilities are eligible for forgiveness since I have a home office, but I don’t pay myself wages.

That’s why my acct said skip it I think.

I skipped it and did EIDL as well and trying for UE. I haven’t heard a word back from them and I filled it out April 7 haven’t seen a credit check either. Same with UI haven’t heard anything and impossible to get through on phones. I have no idea how some people are surviving right now.

EIDL app March 31st here. Got 1k and 0k for two business entities. Zero other communication outside of the boilerplate stuff.

What state? I don’t have the money yet but I am approved pending my weekly certifications (listed above). Pennsylvania.

Oregon. Pretty sure they are having lots of problems. At least I haven’t been waiting 2 months like some people. Frustrating part is just not getting any response on these things.
