No more stimulus, we need to be concerned about debt again.

I got solution. Rewind the most recent tax cuts. Voila

Got the invite to the EIDL portal today. Eligible for $150K, which is the max now I guess. After I “accepted” that it went into processing - not sure if being eligible means I definitely get it. I’m never borrowing money to make payroll, but this may well come in handy for rent sometime in the future.

I think probably so unless they run out of money first. I got the same email Thursday night, next day they had a loan agreement for me. Its intended for working capital, not just payroll. Looks like all you can’t do with it is relocate. So yeah, if you like 3.75% over 30 years have at it.

Check received. I used an online change of address form to redirect any mail going to the old address the IRS was using. Check arrived today with the redirect notice on the front of the envelope. Performed a mobile deposit so that I might hold on to the check for later in the year. In the cold of each winter, me and my partner warm ourselves with a bonfire built on all of the things from that year we want to say goodbye to. This check will make a nice addition.

Yes I think that’s EIDL. Think I will pay it back as slow as possible, at least as long as I can get a better return elsewhere. Think the wife’s top student loan rate is over 6. It’s $3,000. What’s that like $15/month?

Filed for PUA today, gl me.

Not sure how I have gotten shafted so badly so far. 1k grant for 2 businesses. No loan offers, no stimulus checks for me and the wife. Frustrating.

You did vote for Bernie.

Speaking of social security, I see there is an idea that next stimulus check should come with a gotcha for you first 3 months of social security when you retire. The go fuck yourself institute or whatever (Hoover?) came up with that gem.

Serious question. I apologize if it’s been asked before. Got my stimulus check today. Seeing Trump’s name on it makes me ill. What happens if I cross it out? Can they refuse to cash it? It’s almost (but not quite) worth $1200

Sick brag.

Biden 2020 feeling more lockish every day

Time for yet another round of our favorite game: Incompetent or Complicit? Stimulus Edition!

Welp, that about settles that now doesn’t it?

Then again, I don’t know, I mean, maybe they think there’s some kind of inter connectivity and the second and third level effects of ignoring the lobbying groups could actually hurt normal folks. Maybe we should give her the benefit of the doubt and see what else she’s doing.

On some level, I think Dems are weak-tight and see certain things as must-pass which they are unwilling to risk. It’s like some false Sophie’s choice scenario, where “I dare you to kill them both” is an option they are incapable of considering. Sure, a game of brinksmanship might lead to preventable deaths, but the potential rewards, including electoral gains, are so high.

How much of Democratic mistakes can be explained by modeling them as overly risk-averse players in the political game?

That’s very possible, especially since almost all of the party leadership came up in an era when the entire public trusted a handful of reputable news sources. They may not recognize the playing field now.

Sort of like watching TJ Cloutier or someone like that shake his head and fold to Gus Hansen for the 18th time in a row in 2005 or whatever, thinking Gus is the fish.

But personally I just think they sold out for that sweet corporate money from the 1%ers.

I think it’s both.

Just write in, “has a tiny penis and a smaller brain,” after his name on the check. After all, I think this is in the Note section.

Dude I just ate breakfast. Now I want to vomit.

I again throw out the simple proposal I’ve sent all my reps

Give a bigger amount like 5k, make it taxable to 100% on its own schedule based on 2020 AGI. Poor folk keep the whole thing. Rich folk get a loan. So easy.

Don’t want people double dipping on stimulus and extra Unemployment.

So my UI profile clearly says direct deposit but yesterday Ingot a debit card in the mail.

Guess I’m confused as to if so have money on the card or I need to wait for a deposit.

I did find where the UI benefit and the 600 are listed. I did get withholding so I think I’ll net about 1k/week post tax.

TIL NY has a (much) lower max UI benefit than CT and NJ. For some reason that surprised me.
