Chuck Schumer is just the absolute stone cold WOAT, the dude has to be in on it, no other explanation is possible.
It’s hard to attack the other side when you go to cocktail parties with them on the weekend.
chuck schumer exists so when i call my [redacted] on being a trump-lover, the first thing [redacted] says is "chuck schumer was taking pictures with trump! they were friends!
There’s two reasons to give out cash bailouts to everyday people. The first is to help everyone who has been laid off from their job try to keep a bit of normalcy. The second is to keep all the gig economy, restaurant/bar workers, panhandlers, seasonal workers, and everyone else who lives paycheck to paycheck and doesn’t fit in to the current version of American work culture from starving.
If you’re more concerned about the first then I’m honestly kinda convinced that you don’t actually live on this planet and you’ve been sent by you’re civilization to study hew-mons.
Apparently Schumer was just giving a presser on the bailout legislation. All I caught was bailing out businesses and restrictions like no layoffs, no salary cuts, and no stock buybacks.
Mom said he mentioned giving workers money equal to their paychecks every month.
Wow 200 dollars a month how could she have lost
Not sure where to post this, but something that has really sunk in for me these last few days is how many of these congresspeople treat this like a part time job, and, in some ways, an inconvenience. Like, I’ve heard interviews with many members of Congress who are still traveling back to their home districts during the weekend. You shouldn’t be leaving town in the middle of a fast moving crisis, especially when there is no system for remote voting and when all this travel is a perfect way for a member to contract the virus and spread it to all of their colleagues. Keep your butts in DC and pass some bills for crying out loud…
Mitch left for 4 days to attend a Rapey McDrunkface circle jerk rather than get response legislation passed. They don’t care even a little bit.

Gives money to literally everyone, even kids, but…
The mechanics of this funding approach would be as follows:
• The Treasury Secretary would direct the U.S. Mint to issue two $1 trillion platinum
coins, under the legal authority provided by 31 U.S.C. § 5112(k).
• Congress would direct the Federal Reserve to purchase the newly issued coins at full face
value.
• The Federal Reserve would complete the purchase by crediting the U.S. Mint’s account
at the Fed with $2 trillion in reserves.
• The Fed would retain ownership over the two $1 trillion coins permanently in order to
ensure its own balance sheet remains fully capitalized by the Treasury.
• The Treasury Secretary would “sweep” the newly created reserve funds from the Mint’s
account into the regular Treasury General Account.
• The Treasury would make the funds available to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service to
disperse to every person in America in the form of pre-paid U.S. Debit Cards.
Should just mint some $5 trillion coins if we’re going that route.
If they pull off 2k+1k/month for every man woman and child that will be enormously helpful.
I really want a 1 trillion dollar coin.
Without UBI we are headed for a worse financial crisis than the Great Depression. My worry is that I’m not sure if enough people in Congress realize this. There are some who clearly do.
It seems great until one day the office vending machine isn’t accepting bills and you accidentally buy the most expensive bag of cheetos ever.
