So the latest controversy is people - including some Democrat lawmakers - complaining that Biden announced a $1,400 check, rather than $2,000.
Maybe it’s just me, but with all the talk about $2,000 vs. $600, I always just assumed that the Dems saying that we’d get $2,000 during the period between the general and the Georgia runoffs meant $2,000 total instead of $600, not $2,000 more on top of $600.
Whether or not $2,000 is enough is a different argument (it’s not enough), but I never once thought that if Dems got control that the $2,000 would be in addition to the $600.
This is classic Democratic self-owning. The Victors of the world are all over twitter complaining about $2000 vs. $1400 because their whole online identity is shitting on Joe Biden for being insufficiently liberal. Never mind that he released a $1.9 trillion plan that has tons of great liberal stuff in it. They don’t actually care about policy outcomes, politics is as much a game to them as it is for Trumpers. Gotta own the shitlibs no matter what.

Seems like if the politician is confused then regular people will be confused too especially when the 2 GA reps were saying we will get you $2k checks when voted in and the $600 already went out. It’s very typical behavior of Dems to win a trifecta of LONG shot elections in Georgia based on a simple campaign promise to do good things, and then renege on that promise before the winners have even been seated.

Explain that to the voters and regular people that don’t follow politics too closely who have been hearing we will get you a $2k check once the 2 Georgia senators win.
