Bailout / Stimulus Discussion (Hints Missed & Shartz Fired)

I don’t even know what that means. You’re creating a hypothetical out of thin air that does not match reality or anything close to what a known potential reality is.

Doing nothing right now will lead to a ton of lost lives and ruined lives. If you can find a mechanism to get people lots of money and retroactively before September 1 under the conditions we’re in, then you’re a savior. If not, dystopia coming whether any of you like it or not. No one’s passing anything in October. Friday is the day doods, unless a miracle can happen getting money into hands in less than 2 weeks.

But what is happening? Something?

If you dont believe Meadows then what the fuck are you talking about? Everything we have witnessed says the GOP had no interest in 600+ eviction protection. None. You keep acting like the Dems arent agreeing to some terms that don’t actually fucking exist.

I’m quite certain the GOP would agree to the $600 and eviction moratorium, quite certain. But how many people here would actually say that’s okay as a clean bill?

I’m just trying to figure out your thought process. You said you are for less loss of life but won’t acknowledge that passing a half ass measure may lead to more loss of life than trying to get a better deal.

What half ass measure am I advocating for? I’m advocating for $600 unemployment extension, $600 hazard pay (this is probably not going to be in any skinny bill but would be wildly popular), and eviction moratorium. Which of what I’m advocating would be a half ass measure that would kill people?

The dems arent doing nothing. Of the two sides of the aisle ONLY ONE HAS PASSED A FUCKING BILL.

GTFO man, seriously

How?

Why?

In what fucking universe?

Where is this mythical fucking desire to compromise you think exists?

And how is the GOP addressing this passage of a bill? By doing nothing, exactly the way they like it and what they want. They are driving the country off a cliff on purpose.

Okay, let’s slow down here brother. Would you be okay with Congress passing a skinny bill that just includes a retroactive $600 unemployment extension through November along with eviction moratorium through November?

And how do you stop an insane driver if you are tied up and chained in the trunk? What fucking recourse (that you can present evidence for) do the dems actually have here?

Yep. Now what?

Boy this is a great poll idea.

Would you support a skinny bill that only had a retroactive $600 unemployment extension and an eviction moratorium through the end of November if it could be passed today with money in the people’s hands before September 1?

  • Yes
  • No

We’re done here, because that’s all I’m trying to get done. Many people here do not want a skinny bill of any sort.

but you’re also claiming the GOP would support it, nothing indicates they do.

But it’s not going to happen, so what is your point? Like seriously, I want a fucking pony and a PS5 6 months early, but that’s not happening either. Should we have a 100 post discussion about it?

I’ve been advocating for 3K a month UBI per adult since the very beginning. What the fuck does that have to do with anything?

Let’s say you pass a skinny bill that extends things through November. What happens in November for the following cases:

A. Democrats win both the White House and the Senate
B. Democrats win the White House but not the Senate
C. Democrats win the Senate but not the White House
D. Democrats win neither the White House nor the Senate

Most people here believe that in at least some of those cases, Republicans shut down and refuse to do anything.
