Yup and if the GOP wants to negotiate for liability shields then they make it easy. The Dems say “Of course we want to save 40M people from eviction, who doesn’t? Well, apparently the GOP doesn’t, and if they’re going to extract a price for it that is literally human lives, we are not going to negotiate with political terrorists. They want to sacrifice human lives for corporate profits, and they’re threatening to make 40M hard working Americans homeless and hungry if we don’t let them.”

One concern is that if he takes executive action, and you sue him because it’s unconstitutional, you’re the bad guy for suing to block help that people need. If you let it go, he gets to say he’s the one that saved the day and the Democrats and establishment are the enemy of the people, but Trump comes through for the little guy.
It’s tough fighting politically against someone willing to stomp all over the Constitution in a crisis.

If the Dems were a competent party who cared about the people, they’d pass $600/wk UBI every damn day, so the lead news story every night was “Tonight marks the 17th day in a row the Democrats have passed this $600/wk for every American, but the Republicans still refuse to bring it to a vote.”
Then they’d officially change the name of the party to Democrats We Pass Universal $600/wk Every Damn Day.

What happens if trump does his executive order to extend unemployment and evictions protections though?
Dems obviously couldnt stop it without being evil and it would be a huge win for him.

He actually didn’t really do it with his wall. The Dems caved and approved billions for it didn’t they? I know he diverted some small amount of money from FEMA first but the majority of the wall money came from Dems in the house caving if I am remembering right.
