Bahahaha, Heals Act. With one of the core tenets being Liability Protection.

Because THAT is what we need to worry about right now.

“McConnell has said that he hopes that in the next two to three weeks the Senate will be able to get the next coronavirus relief bill to the House.”

Just a reminder, Federal eviction protection and federal unemployment assistance expire this week.

An acronym that includes “liability protection.” The writers are straight up gaslighting the audience.

And then there is Ted Cruz

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said on Monday that he expects “significant resistance” from Republicans to the GOP stimulus bill.

“There is significant resistance to yet another trillion dollars. The answer to these challenges will not simply be shoveling cash out of Washington, the answer to these challenges will be getting people back to work. And as it stands now, I think it’s likely that you’ll see a number of Republicans in opposition to this bill and expressing serious concerns,” he said.

Thats right. NO money for anyone. We just need people to sacrifice themselves to the machine and get back to work.

Anybody who has ever cast a single vote for either of these clowns should eat not but burning hot coals and drink not but burning hot cola for all of eternity.

The Republican push to rejigger benefits so that federal and state payments replace roughly 70% of a worker’s former wages could run into technical difficulties. GOP lawmakers and Trump administration officials have long criticized the current benefit for discouraging people from going back to work.

Some state labor officials have warned that their systems may not be able to quickly make the necessary calculations to tie the federal unemployment benefit to previous income. Under the Republican plan, states that cannot update their unemployment systems would be able to receive a waiver to continue offering the flat federal supplement of $200, according to the person familiar with the matter.

Democrats absolutely WILL NOT GET CREDIT FOR THE STUFF THATS GOOD. It is political suicide to fight for cash payments that Trump will get credit for. The politically correct move here is to say “we already passed our bill” and do nothing.

Yup. But we literally already know what is coming.

Maybe, the ridiculousness of trying to get as many people as possible back to work during a pandemic will finally break conservatives out of their economic dogma. maybe.

I wouldn’t sweat it, if people are in a pinch they can borrow a few grand from their parents to ride them over.

So their negotiating position is to propose a terrible plan that they can’t even pass on their own because it’s not terrible enough and the dems are supposed to come to the table and make concessions to bail them out? I mean, I know it’s going to work because lol dems but jesus christ.

The irony of my Uncle calling me this morning to use my company as a job search to keep his unemployment benefits rolling while talking about how Biden is going to make us communist.

Is this why random people I’ve never heard of keep emailing me resumes/job applications?

Most states make you apply to x number of jobs per week and limit the amount you can per day. So you can’t batch and do it all on Monday morning. You have to spread them out during the week.

It shouldn’t be, because as far as I know CA has waived this requirement because of the pandemic.

Yeah that requirement is waived nationwide from CARES act.

However, starting next week it may be needed again due to the expiration?

WA state too

Shocking developments

fuuuuuuccccccckkkkkkkkkkk youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Aside from dealing with Republicans, this shouldn’t be so hard. Strip out all the bullshit like money to build fighter jets and give all the mobnies to individuals and I guess small businesses. Put a freeze on rent/mortgage/debt payments.
