Was it wrong of me to think about the nun singing to sick little girl scene last night.
A retired Philly police guy that seems to usually be in the know posted about an explosion right after take-off cascaded into an oxygen tank explosion.

Looking through my old photos and this one was interesting because itās nearly exactly where the accident happened, just traveling in the opposite direction. The runway on the left side of the picture is 33. The 4 red lights indicate Iām below where I should be if I was making an approach to the runway. 3 red lights would be slightly low, 2 red lights is a perfect 3 degree angle to the threshold. I assume I was adhering to the 200ā limit and on the far bank of the river. So if an airplane was landing above me maybe we would miss? But I wouldnāt want to test that theory out.
are we going to have to go back to having to go across the world via boat
Only merit based people are left!
This is hyperbole, right? Or does the FAA ever ground pilots who perform a single dangerous maneuver even though no accident occurred?
Only slightly. The FAA is forgiving of mistakes. Intentional reckless behavior is fair game for enforcement though. I canāt find examples because obviously intentional reckless flying is rare and the recent example of the guy who parachuted out of his Cessna for YouTube clicks is sucking up all the Google search attention so I couldnāt tell you how common it is. And even permanent revocations are generally one year bans then youāre free to earn your certificates back.
DOD is a different story. If you do something dumb there it not only looks bad on yourself, it looks bad on your commanding officers and that gets political real quick.
Iām about to get on a plane. Wish me luck.
Send us back reports from the other side, Superleeds. RIP.
I flew into DCA on Monday night, two days prior. It was one of the better flights Iāve been on.
I also flew out of DCA on September 9, 2001.
I might be testing fate by traveling more. I was on Bourbon St. on Halloween this year, potentially at the same exact time Jabbaar was wondering around reconnoitering the area for New Yearās Eve.
Gotta fly soon but itās to Europe so Iāll just be puckering my butthole until weāre out of us airspace.
Flying home from Disney world tomorrow morning.
I was happy to see the Chiefs land safely in New Orleans.
Delayed by just over an hour. Itās snowing where Iām going which is probably the reason for the delay. So if I donāt just fall out of the air maybe itāll be skidding into the terminal

Dis you?
Maybe make this an airline crash containment thread?
I never think twice about flying. That may change.
