I predict BB will make it to the F4.
Maybe also Twilight Zone, The Wire, and Sopranos.
Mary Tyler Moore is one of my all time crushes. Never saw Breaking Bad. Didn’t expect MTM to win obvously.
Son
But in all srs MTM has been a crush of mine too ever since she broke boundaries wearing pants on DVD
Lol, nobody has seen Peep Show or Arcane
and every single gat dang other person on that show was an all-world talent, I’m trying to think of a stronger ensemble and having trouble finding anything that compares
And cross-your-heart bras.
Still had to sleep in separate beds though. The world wasn’t ready for queen-sized beds yet.
I mean
Ted Knight
Ed Asner
Betty White
Valerie Harper
Cloris Leachman
Gavin McLeod
Georgia Engal
John Amos

How does this happen?
Are you just not into the genre? I was like that with the wire but eventually caved in. I have a hate for cop shows so found the wire ok but not worth the hype. My wife refused to watch BB because her brother died from an overdose, so that’s understandable. It really is worth your time though, I watched the pilot on the night it aired and was all-in, never missed an episode ever after.
There’s a “rap legend” in Shanghai (just encountered on Twitter) who goes by Detroit Showtyme or something like that and he’s part of the whole tankie/shill universe alongside all the other pathetic characters but plays up being from the hood and keeping it real etc
I can’t not think Detroit Velvet Smooth (from Moncton) every time.
I’ve hardly watched any scripted TV for the last decade or two. I don’t have the attention span or something. I tend to watch documentaries and reality stuff like Mythbusters, How the Universe Works, and Expedition Unknown. Reality just interests me more. Also the older I get, the more any drama ties my stomach in knots. This shithole country is providing all the drama I need right now.
I do watch movies. But unless a series is incredible for a long time, I lose my suspension of disbelief and I wind up in the writers room guessing at why they decided to make the characters do this or that.
Entourage was like that for me. The first 2 seasons were sublime. But the 3rd season was like, “Okay I’m fresh out of ideas, what should we have the guys do?” “I dunno, let’s have a snowball fight at Sundance, that’ll kill a minute.”
After a while I don’t want to invest in a series because I feel like there’s a very good chance it will let me down at the end, as validated when all the big fans complain about the last season or the series finale of whatever big show of the moment.
I did watch season one of The Wire and liked it. But I lost interest when I realized season 2 was going to feature the annoying dock workers. I’m told I need to just push through that and it gets better.
I started Game of Thrones but lost interest by the second episode when I realized how much grubby stinky sex I was going to have to endure.
I’ve thought about starting Breaking Bad a few times. I figure I’ll always have it available for when I get really bored and/or convalescent.
Heh it just does brother. Life gets in the way all the damn time when we start collecting responsibilities and we just run out of hours in the day!
I have literally never seen a single episode of
-Mad Men
-Grey’s Anatomy
-Fawlty Towers
-NYPD Blue
-How I Met Your Mother
eta the wife just intimated that she’s seen none of
-Breaking Bad
-BCS
-The Wire
-Arrested Development
-Veep
-True Detective
Where are my I, Claudius bros at? Absolutely legendary television.
I always had to go to bed when my parents watched that because it had sex stuff or something.
Deadwood and Watchmen another heartbreaker, jeez.
We need more voter suppression apparently.
No idea what The Leftovers is. Loved watching Carol Burnett with my mom as a kid.
Leftovers GOAT status. Though to be fair i can see reasonable people hating it, it’s a fairly divisive show. Emo as hell.
People will vote differently, but I generally shit on stuff I enjoyed in the before times (everybody loves Raymond), that I now would actively dislike. Which means genuinely good shows like Arcane will always win over shitty old sitcoms that were once funny e.g.
