God fucking dammit
Non-zero chance they knew exactly who he was and executed him. US military is not at all friendly with many NGO’s, and “accidental” killings sometimes aren’t.
If they were going to kill this guy they could maybe have done it without worldwide media attention. We just suck.
This is just psychopathic evil.
Hey, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs!
Has this thread been posted yet? It’s an analysis of the drone attack. We are the baddies.

Utterly disgusting. Everybody in the chain of command should be charged with murder.

Four days before Ahmadi was killed, his employer had applied for his family to receive refugee resettlement in the U.S. At the time of the strike, they were still awaiting approval. Looking to the U.S. for protection, they became some of the last victims in America’s longest war.
A few days ago there was an article on a german news side regarding military and drones and the answer to one of the question was that the targeted killing by the USA is done by the CIA because of less oversight. So I assume there isnt a typical chain of command just “bad” intel lost in a shroud of secrecy that will never be lifted.
From that above linked Tweet thread:

The decision to strike does not flow down the typical chain of command. Because of the chaos of the Kabul airport evacuation, an official told us, President Biden and the military have delegated the authority to approve airstrikes to lower-level commanders.
There maybe a difference between airstrikes to assist in combat and airstrikes to kill certain people?
No clue. I just know that whoever made the call, or delegated that role to an unqualified individual, to blow up some innocent dude and his family with literally zero evidence that he was a bad guy should be held accountable in some way. That these monsters get to just go home to their wife and kids for dinner and come back into the office to do it all again the next day is nauseating.
The Soviets were pretty horrible in Afghanistan too. If anyone can be blamed for starting this whole mess it’s them.
I’m not convinced this particular issue is a fundamental problem with capitalism.
Fair enough but the US disaster in Afghanistan is so transparently driven by wrapping military contractor Earnings Per Share goals in a US flag and calling it patriotism and national unity. There is a direct line from capitalist profit interests to atrocities in Afghanistan.
Sure. But there was a different direct line with the Soviets and atrocities still happened. The US is horrible. The Soviets were horrible. China is horrible and has been since Mao. Why are we trying to claim that capitalism is some kind of common thread to all the world’s evil and injustice?
Agree with that.
Amateur comedians enjoying a fat life in the center of US empire probably shouldn’t make shit jokes like this
There was plenty of evil and injustice in the world before capitalism. There is still plenty of evil and injustice in the world outside the realm of capitalism. Maybe capitalism isn’t the root cause?
The goal of the founding fathers was a better society. The goal of the cultural revolution was a better society. I think the ostensible goal of every new country/system is a better society. I don’t know if we’re giving out points for original intent.
Fucking Hitler would have told you he wanted a better society. But hey, we gotta cut the guys who deliberately starved the Ukrainians some slack since they said they wanted to make society better.
Yep, no mask here, the Soviets were really fucking evil. That there are other really evil people doesn’t change that. Imagine thinking that me saying that is some sort of big reveal.
I’m thinking that will ultimately happen in the NFL thread.
