Afghanistan Wars: The Taliban Strikes Back.

Shit I wish I didn’t check my Facebook news feed.

So many people who were presenting themselves as leftists are really shitlibs in the end. Complete and total hypocrites.

Brainless media zombies. If the media was praising this withdrawal they would be too

Shit I called this awhile back when leftists on Reddit were freaking out about this

When you think about it, it isn’t incredibly surprising. It’s clear that my mother doesn’t post anything political on Facebook until she watches Hannity or Tucker Carlson so they can tell her what to think. She never has a snap response to anything immediate that happens.

Not much different for people on the left unless they’re really tuned into what’s going on and have a consistent foundation for their beliefs. And people who are those two things are a very small minority.

American hubris is not just on the right. Most Americans, including most Democrats, are indoctrinated in the idea that the US is The Greatest Country In The World. It is incomprehensible to them that the US could fail at anything, absent some failure of leadership. Biden won’t be the last President that is personally held responsible for inevitable outcomes as the US empire fails. Many, many Democrats have not had, and are not close to, the epiphany necessary to come to terms with this.

too early to call that but R’s are all but certain to take the house in 22 at this point.

There is something though, back in lebanon, 241 US soldiers lost in a bombing, he pulled out, Reagan then won a big landslide.

we’re a different media/politicians vs back then obviously

I don’t think this will matter by 24 (they’ll find something new by then) but D’s will probably get wrecked in 22.

After 2016 I told myself that I would never miss another election. I have voted in every presidential election since I was eligible to vote but not many congressional elections. I have never really lived in any swing districts, the out come was already determined so I said to myself, what’s the point.

I will never miss another the election after Trump. And I live in a state that all my reps are reliably dem. I hope that others see it the same way and turnout. Its likely just wishful thinking but one can hope. Even if just means running up the score I’m voting!

Y’all are lucky that you can vote easily. Voter suppression of overseas American citizens is the type that’s never talked about. Every state does as poor a job as it can when it comes to it which infringes on my right to vote.

You’re supposed to receive your federal ballot at least 45 days prior to the election but I didn’t receive mine until 6 days before it. Because the ballot was already incredibly late, I opted to submit a backup ballot (one where you fill in all of the information by hand) and turn it in through the embassy beforehand. When I went to see if it was received, I couldn’t find any record of it. Likely means that it was ruled invalid since it wasn’t the absentee ballot that I was sent.

That’s why voter turnout among overseas Americans is 7%

'Merica - Freeest country in the world -_-

It’s definitely common and activated a lot of new voters. So has Trump though, just look at how close the election was. Our only hope is we keep all our new voters and trumps new 10 million voters sit out after he lost.

Honestly our future looks super, super bleak

once you have means, it’s worth considering changing your registration to an R district or better yet R state, especially a gerrymandered one. in the grand scheme of things your voting power may increase 100x yet still be miniscule. but if/when demographics push through redistricting (like they did in VA), it may speed up realignment towards the next duopoly of dems vs progressives (hopefully), or (possibly) gop vs progressives.

A bit of good news.

Slightly tainted by a stupid controversy involving some lady in Oklahoma.

Just so I understand. Trump wanted any bomb to happen (even or especially domestically?) so he could go ballistic and rally the war hawks. One suicide bomber and Biden’s whole presidency so far is in question?

Not dealing with the trolls who think I’m a Biden fan. I’m not. Just comparing this issue specifically.

Even the people who dislike Biden from the left think this is a bullshit made up scenario to punish Biden for going against American imperialism

My concern after these wasted 20 years is that we go back into increased black ops(Biden already vowed retribution) and destabilisation action to advance US agenda. I dont think for a second that the western countries change their approach and stop their predatory trading behaviour with the developing world and actually help them to make these peoples lifes better. In the end the US wont leave the playing field to China and Russia who have no qualm to deal with dictators and undemocratic governments as long as they get access to their much needed resources. So we can all gloat that this withdrawal was long overdue and the right thing to do but I would like to see what the plan is for the future. The war was wrong if you dont follow up with nation building but if the alternative is keeping the status quo and have 5-6 billion people on this planet live a miserable life then I dont see that we should have the moral high ground.

It’s nowhere near 5-6b people.

You say that as if the US didn’t actively prefer dictators and undemocratic governments.

Well Trump wouldnt but a democratic President who might need the votes of progressives might have more scruple.
