I mean kids fresh out of HS deescalate stressful situations in fast food joints etc all the time. The problem is they aren’t held accountable.
If they knew they could lose their jobs for acting like assholes then they would act different.
That said the training should be much longer too.

There are lots of place in CA that require a college degree to be a cop and they aren’t any better.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t be guilty of something, just they have a much, much, much better defense than Chauvin.

Also weather is fucking miserable today
Every deplorable I know is quietly hoping that Chauvin gets acquitted.
Tasers feel completely different in your hand when compared to guns. Especially given that tasers aren’t often colored like guns, it sounds like complete bullshit to me.
If it suits the cops, they’ll release the body cam footage proving it though

Really? Not true for me, they’re hoping he gets convicted so they can say the system works and racism doesn’t exist.
Chauvin getting convicted lets them say nothing is wrong with the system. See its a few bad apples and they’re punished!
Although the riots afterwards would also be super beneficial for them so who knows. Doubt they think that far ahead.

They already say and think that nothing is wrong with a system that doesn’t hold police accountable.
My family is one of cops and cop bootlickers. They want carte blanche for cops to do whatever.

Not jman, but I’d venture that most of Trump’s base wants Chauvin acquitted.
How much has FOX News said about this?
Disagree. Chauvin fits into the “a few bad apples narrative of the right. Him getting convicted is proof the system works.

If that’s the angle FOX News is going with then that’s what deplorables believe
Yeah if you go too far over the line conservatives drop you super fast. Probably 80% of the people I work with are Trump voters and I haven’t heard anyone defend Chauvin at all. My uncles are all nuts and they all think Chauvin should fry.
Yeah cops and their families want him to get off for sure. Not your average deplorable though

Yea, this makes sense if you in a cop family and truly think they have the most dangerous job in the world. They’ll rationalize their cop family member being a POS by saying “Well, it’s unfortunate but it’s part of the job.”

I was referring to the massive reduction in police budgets in major cities for FY2021 in the wake of Floyd’s death.

50 largest saw a 5.2% (lol massive) decrease and that can’t all be attributed to the Floyd protests
Also law enforcement spending as a share of total expenditures actually rose, so guess everything else was cut more

Will be very shocked if the state and local aid from CARES 2 doesnt reverse this decline in '21
