About Moderation (old original thread)

Are you saying his take is delicious?

Bet you can’t drive off a second, micro!

The megalomaniacal MrWookie has closed a thread because he “Had enough of this inanity”.

This is an abuse of mod power. He seems to think he can behave here as he does on 2+2, and doesn’t realise he’s here to follow the instructions and wishes of the site owners ie us.

It was kind of a dumb thread, is it really that big of a deal?

Is it a big deal to keep it open? Seems like there are robust tools for people to ignore the thread if they don’t want to see it. Isn’t that the point of extractions of contentious topics?

I found the keeed containment thread entertaining. If that thread is closed, then he should post his stupid takes in the main Trump thread.

Lighten up, Francis.

You mean a post from months ago? Link it and I’ll flag it myself. Who cares?

Why does the discussion need to continue if Keed has said no possible evidence could change his mind?

Agree that closing threads is not a power mods clearly have unless it’s something pretty obvious.

It doesn’t, I wouldn’t have posted in it at all if it hadn’t been bumped the other day. But it doesn’t follow that it needs to be closed, either.

Nothing that happened or will ever happen on this forum will be a big deal per se.

But relative to forum activity, breaches of forum rules should be clamped down on (heaven knows there aren’t many rules), especially if they feature mods trying to grab power they clearly crave.

If he’s had enough of a thread (as he said) why doesn’t he just fuck off out of it and let others enjoy it?

I did too. If it gives people pleasure why should it matter whether a status-obsessed mod likes it or not?

That’s probably the best way to proceed if it remains closed. Then another mod will have to excise the derailment into its own thread lol. And round we go.

Isn’t it obvious? You’re not as popular as jbro so you don’t get to tell people to fuck off like he does.

I honestly don’t care either way, just saying it may not be worth making a big deal over.

My response to you telling me to fuck off was “tsk-tsk lol” which I deleted so this didn’t escalate further. The last time I told you to fuck off was months ago. Those posts were not flagged as frequently back then.

Lapka,

The flagging isn’t done by mods. I don’t know if a mod acted on something or not.

If you want an “about flagging” conversation to discuss how members don’t all treat everyone the same…well ok, but that will never come close to happening. If you want to remove flagging, I think gregorio talked about that. I don’t remember if it’s possible or not. But it’s also not up to mods.

Does follow that there is no grounds for fruitful discussion in that thread and those whining about it are engaged in the attention seeking behavior they are known for.

Let the users decide for themselves if they want to continue the discussion. Who isn’t interested can ignore the thread.

Right, but who’s making this a thing? The mod who closed the thread seconds after he got annoyed with my argument and washed his hands of the thread, or me saying hey could you unlock the thread?
