Lol at the time spent arguing on whether or not a poster who has improved his posting from 10 fucking years ago and who also wasn’t banned then for bad posting but should be banned now because of that posting.
Folks here are too entrenched in arguing the bottom 10% of what they feel is wrong with this place when they should be enjoying themselves with a pretty damn good community.
I can start reeking havoc for you guys if you desperately need something to complain about.

That’s the entirety of the PM. I can’t link to the CoC thread anymore, but you literally made fun of that request. You then left for a few weeks afterwards, and it wasn’t because you felt so “comfortable” about what you had been part of.
You could have chosen a path that would have led to a solution at any time. You still can! Seriously, quit with this pathetic drama bullshit and shoot me a message.
If you don’t want to go that route, I don’t see much of a path forward that doesn’t involve some sort of big confrontation about it, and that’s not what I want to do to this community. Apparently, it’s what you want though.

It seems obvious this is how you feel about critics of your moderatorship, that there has been a campaign to harass you and make the job difficult in the hopes you would quit.

The solution is: you’re ikes, everyone knows you’re ikes, you being ikes does not particularly signify and no special arrangements should be made in light of the fact that you’re ikes. The dragging-out of this entirely unremarkable matter is an exclusive function of your simmering dissatisfaction with that solution. You, apparently, want Something Done about people noting that you’re ikes.
That’s what you want and I don’t think you should get it. There are probably ten thousand message boards you could go to and post about politics, and nobody there would say you’re ikes. You don’t want that. You want to post here - a continuation of a community you lost a bet regarding your right to participate in - and you want to do so under the colour of some special protection where everybody must know that you’re ikes, but be forbidden to say it.
That’s what you want. And people are prepared to swear blind you’ve improved as a poster lmao.

It’s because he has, and it’s not blind. What seems to be blind is the enduring animus.
I dunno, I feel like it’s more a sort of in-group/out-group dynamic thing where he’s temporarily at odds with a loose coalition of posters you (and various other attestors of his Damascene conversion) find yourself in conflict with. The incessant needling and instinctive line-treading misconstruals of others’ intent etc remain, but they look good to you now because he’s inside the tent pissing out, instead of outside pissing in.
Or, I dunno. Maybe the guy who can’t stop trying to make his former handle on a different site a community-defining Big Issue is actually a really good poster and I just can’t see it. Impossible to say.

I didn’t know he was Ikes until someone explicitly pointed it out, even though I had been dropping a few tidbits here and there about him whenever I was reminded of him.

I used to not really pay attention to who was posting, I just chose to respond to those posts that represented a POV I wanted to engage with.
To ‘swear blind’ simply means to avow emphatically. It’s, I dunno the official term, but it’s like, conditionally self-imprecatory? It’s basically May I Be Struck Blind If ( ¬X). Possibly another lesson in various dialects of English Around The World.
Beyond that, I’ve observed his posting, I’ve interacted with him, I’ve made my judgement on whether his posting has improved (it hasn’t), I don’t care if his politics have improved (they probably haven’t, don’t care, I’d feel much the same about an emphatically socialist version of ikes), I don’t remember where I found out he was ikes but it looooong predated any of the captains tomfoolery etc.
