About Andor, and lesser Star Wars things

Are you saying he should divorce her for asking or that she should divorce him if he makes her watch the prequel trilogy to explain.

Watched Rogue One again today. I just realized the movie pretty much makes Princess Leia useless in New Hope. Rogue One did all the work getting the plans of the Death Star. Vader then slaughters a bunch of rebels as they pass the plan to Leia. She gives them to R2D2 within seconds and then manages to give up the location of the rebel base which in turn destroys Alderaan, her home planet. Great job!

Leia didnā€™t give up their real location though, the Dantooine base was abandoned. They only found them on Yavin by tracking the Falcon after the gang escaped from the DS.

The question itself is offensive.

Shit lol. You are right.

I will henceforth refer to wherever @Danspartan abides as Dantooine

Hah! Totally grunching the thread.

I enjoy all things Star Wars but the amount of investment of some folks is beyond me. Just a ride to disappointment town imo.

Mandalorian is just the raid of the week with a disturbing undertone of wtf happens to baby Yoda between ROTJ and TFA. (Mando is Very well done and enjoyable to me)

Assuming the childā€™s blood brought Palpatine back, then Mando has done nothing but bring pain and suffering to the galaxy.

Quite frankly at this point I will feel robbed if we donā€™t get to see Ben Solo slaughter the little guy in his sleep.

Enjoy the ride and set pieces. Donā€™t get too caught up in the overall arc. Either that or letā€™s Bobby Ewing episodes 7/8/9 and let Favreau start over.

As far as story arc the Expanse>SW universe imo.

And wth, how does Mando send off Grogi without the stick shift knob?

This is often a problem. For example it makes Better Call Saul way less good. Itā€™s still a great show, but if there was no BB, there would be a whole other dimension to it.

Yeah, but without Breaking Bad, would you really have watched a show about a shady lawyer who does doc review, sues nursing homes and fights with his brother? Early Jimmy McGill is way more compelling when you know that heā€™s gonna become Saul.

This doesnā€™t bother me, but Iā€™ve been known to not necessarily care about linear chronological organization of information. For example, I donā€™t think history should always be taught chronologically.

Do historical/biographical movies bother you if you now how the story turns out? Does reading the book first make the movie based on it less enjoyable because you know the basic shape of the ending vs not reading?

Well not at first, but I think Iā€™d have bought into the hype after a while.

Same with BB. I didnā€™t start watching until it was about 3 seasons deep and it was all everyone was talking about.

If a show is good, Iā€™m sure Iā€™ll find out one way or another. Even if I happen to dismiss it at first glance.

To be fair, they more or less take that possibility off the table in the first 5 minutes.

For Star Wars there were already like 100 books about stuff like this. When Disney bought Lucas they made this stuff non canon, but prequels for stuff like Star Wars, Marvel and other stuff with hundreds or thousands of printed materials is obviously fine.

What makes a movie or TV show rewatchable for you?

Donā€™t you have a movie or TV show you like going back to no matter how many times youā€™ve seen it?

I suppose the answer to that may be the point for a lot of you.

Oh there are dozens of movies and shows like this for me. There are so many scenes in great movies (and even bad ones) i can rewatch.
