Cops commit more rapes before they even go into work than they “solve” while working.
Body cameras don’t do shit when the system is corrupt

Haha yeah man so funny every black person that gets their ass beat/murdered is breaking the law And should’ve known better
Guess Elijah should’ve watched Chris rock so he wouldn’t have been killed by police for looking suspicious
Also I thought you weren’t going to post in politics anymore after your hysterical meltdown or do you just like checking in to be a pompous douchebag?
Quote from Andrea Ritchie in the video linked in week six:
How to then move it from those individual cases [of communities dealing with people causing harm], often within activist communities, often dealing with harm perpetrated by people that we know, who we can bring in people they know to hold them accountable… how to scale those things up into, you know, the alternative 911 that you call anywhere in the country is, like, it feels like there’s a chasm between those two things that I have no concept of how to bridge. The only thing I can propose is that it be central to all of our conversations.
I appreciate someone finally giving an honest, straightforward answer to this question.
Does anyone here have a personal account of calling the police and it helping?
Not here in the UK. Quite the opposite in fact. Ive only called the police twice in my life.

Burglary when living in social housing in a rough area 30 years ago. 2 coppers arrive after a long delay and with no desire to hide their insouciance. One, while chewing gum in an exaggerated fashion, looks around and proclaims “What do you expect if you live round here?”. I replied with words to the effect that I expect it to be investigated by the police but wouldn’t have bothered if I thought the insurance company wouldn’t demand a case number. They weren’t pleased, but fuck 'em.

Different area. Having breakfast with a mate who stayed over after a night on the tiles we see a guy drive away but leave his briefcase on the pavement by his car door. We go out and open it hoping to find an address (it’s not clear which apartment he came from), but see nothing except a wallet with some credit cards. We do the “obvious” thing and take it to the local nick, hand it to the desk seargeant, explaining what happened, who opens it wearily, opens the wallet, sees the credit cards, silently closes the briefcase and says very firmly “Thank you, we’ll take care of this”. LOLOLOL yes we know you will you corrupt ■■■■■■ We leave feeling utterly depressed.
This was in my neighborhood this morning, along with other fliers that say “Talk to your neighbors, not the cops.” So I guess there are at least some leftists around here irl.
What the fuck is this? Has Chris Rock’s schtick always been black guy who uses racist white guy talking points?
Just a cop being cool with white supremacists and giving the white power hand gesture while on duty

Some of it? This was from the 90s during the height of the superpredator panic but maybe you’re right and that’s why we thought he was so great back then.
Police in my city are having a parade this evening. For real. We’re supposed to go and wave to them as they drive by with their sirens on.
Or they could be used to buy more military toys as they continue amassing piles of untested rape kits like they always do.
Large parade of cars (mostly pick ups) with huge American flags and many with the blue stripe with police escort through Manhattan Beach and probably the other South Bay beach cities in SoCal.
Keep in mind we’re never going to win. Way more than half the “liberals” in this country are terrified and think that if police took 10 minutes off they would all be robbed, raped, and murdered and lots of people love the taste of boots. WAAF. Expect to lose.
Like maybe Imperial Beach? As always, LOL @ LA peeps calling the LA area “SoCal”.
