2026 Winter Olympics Milano Cortina

For any sickos that will still be up USA curling mixed doubles debut is in about 2 hours. Pretty important game right off the bat as you would think Norway would be one of those fringe medal round teams the US is competing with to advance. The format is a full round robin and then top 4 pf the 10 teams advance. I don’t remember if ties are settled by an extra game or head to head but either way this game has pretty major implications right out of the gate if the US is going to medal in this event.

Missed almost every shot that end. Lucky it was only 3 probably.

Really funny ending to end 5 in Czechia-Sweden. A really crazy fluke meant Czechia got a point instead of Sweden stealing 2. Our commentators are laughing.

It would be a huge value-add if they gave the curling commentators a telestrator. Perhaps they can’t if it’s a single video feed that everyone uses and they don’t control the camera cuts, but I still think they could find a way. Some quick “here’s how he’s going to try and bring this one in” type drawings would be nice even for folks who somewhat understand the game.

I love that curling is the most popular sport on unstuck.

I can give a little background on this because I worked on the Vancouver Olympics and mixed a few live to tape pre-Olympic competitions. Even in 2010, the technology was quite advanced and probably quite a few events are commentated on remotely with crews that aren’t there. If you never see them on camera, that’s the tell-tale sign it’s being done remotely. They could easily even cheat that with green screens, but no one cares or even notices.

Many crews are there, some are not. Also, while NBC controls some cameras and nat sound of competitions I’m sure, especially in marquee events, most of this is done by OBS and fed out without commentators throughout the world.

Long way of saying a Telestrator is not likely to happen.

Following up on this, going to nbcolympics.com on mobile fed me to the NBC Sports app, which then asked for a provider. It looks robust but I will see what happens on a desktop later. There are plenty of commercials in this curling competition. Haven’t looked at Peacock yet either, which they clearly prefer users to use.

Unless someone starts talking soon, the figure skating training is an example of a commentator free feed. I love watching track and field this way. For figure skating it’s mad boring.

Where is a good place to see a time schedule for events? I hate trying to figure out within the Peacock app when I’m actually gonna be able to watch something.

Afternoon curling bet for me is Estonia +1.5/GB win parlay. Can get this around +140. Estonia is a pretty good team that has lost to the top end of the field and should be fighting for their lives and a bit undervalued.

Not seeing the line up yet but I would also take Canada at plus odds vs Italy.

I find one of the easiest ways is just googling “Olympics schedule” and their interface presents it pretty well.

The sideline reporter for hockey said her kids would call this hockey legend Unc. lol wtf

Maybe I just suck at this or not willing to put in the very little amount of effort required, but feels like I always end up missing the events I actually wanted to watch.

I’m going to put this EST TV schedule up this for myself. #schedule

FYI – This spreadsheet was really confusing if not switched to One Column at the bottom.

This web app looks promising as well:

(Credit to both here.)

There are usually replays available within 2 hours for anything you miss.

I have a strange medical condition where it’s physically impossible for me to watch non-live sports.

On Peacock I will check the upcoming events for the day and then click on all the ones I want to for sure see and add a check where it says “My Stuff”. Then all the events I want to watch are contained in the “My Stuff” header on the top of the page.

I don’t mind watching replays so it works well for me, but even if you’re only watching live then you’d have a more relevant schedule for you with all the start times there.
