I actually think he’s better than a coinflip in an election where, instead of riding Trump’s coattails, the R candidate will be riding with Vivek.
Best you can hope for is everyone in Ohio gets tired of Trumpism, and I’m not sure that’s happening even with the Epstein fallout. Vivek on the ballot might turn away enough Ohioans to give Sherrod a chance. Realistically, he loses to another used car salesman who promises to lock up immigrants and transgender kids.
Even if he wins it’s only for a 2 year term right? If they can one shot their way to 51 this time around then great, but it’ll likely be going back red in ‘28 so limited utility otherwise.
If he wins in 26, I would expect him to re-elected if Dems win back the White House.

There are 3, brown in ohio, NC, Susan Collins in Maine (in theory anyway). more would require a massive blue wave, which is possible depending on how things go to shit by then. The next closest is Texas then like Lindsey Graham or that independent Nebraska guy who isn’t a liberal but D’s will take it for not being a full blown republican. (he lost by just 6 points in 24 and is running in 26). really outside the box is we’re all gonna die lady. and Alaska (D’s have decent candidates they could run there but I think alaska would take quite the wave) There’s rubio’s seat but man that’s a pipe dream.
afterwards, Mitch Mcconnell will also be no longer in the senate, as will Dick Durbin (for all the complaining the old dems aren’t leaving, a lot of them are, schumer is kind of the only one still hanging on to that level of power and he’s probably toast if aoc runs against him. people want perception of fighters atm. Tommy Tuberville also out, so there’s something.
I still think we have elections, it’s not really realistic potus could suspend a state election, the real question on that in my opinion is would they acknowledge the results and seat them.

This is just a one seat difference vs current, guess they couldn’t find a way to literally do zero. Which admittedly is kinda hard to do with st.louis. You can’t stretch every district too thin in case of a wave.
