This is the most American thread of all time.
well states will have elections, they gotta elect gov’s and all, but will it matter and does anyone care? Just don’t hold your breath for the endless hype that maybe finally this time Susan Collins loses. (she might lose idk or care at this point)
paxton primarying cornyn is probably the best possible news for the democrats, he’s got a good chance of winning the primary and he’s got pretty high disapproval ratings.
I’m sure Daddy thinks he should just appoint them
Caitlyn Jenner wants to run against Kamala for CA governor in 2026. Neither have declared their candidacy, and I’m not sure if either ends up running. Already 7 Democrats have declared, but it’s safe to say Harris wins if she wants it.
Dems with some profile already in the race:
Toni Atkins (former Senate leader)
Eleni Koulanakis (lt gov, already has endorsements from Hillary and Boxer)
Tony Thurmond (supt. of public instruction)
Antonio Villaraigosa (former LA mayor)
Betty Yee (former controller, party vice chair)
I read Katie Porter speculation somewhere today.
lol Caitlyn, lol Antonio
This kind of “will there still be elections” bullshit always just ends up giving cover to flawed elections
You are legitimately drawing very live to no more real elections alla Russia.
And this rhetoric gives cover to that
I would love to see a trans woman republican governor just to watch heads explode.
Our system of government prioritizes status quo and inertia over all else. By far the modal outcome, and probably with a very significant percentage chance, like 99.9+% is elections in 2026 resemble 2024. Sure there will come a time when the odds shift more toward chaos or that 1/1000 longshot hits, but I just don’t see it yet.
Care to bet on those odds?
Because there’s a requirement that flawed elections be labeled as such, and always everyone is in agreement over what’s happening
well everyone named trump right now would win a R primary anywhere
heck dems should get the non republican trump to run as one somewhere, might win nomination, nobody pays attention. find a deep red state, ie is wyoming not gonna vote TRUMP.
Went to a board game convention about a month ago and played a game with someone with the last name Trump.
I didn’t ask about her feelings on the subject. I figured that either A) she supports him and I don’t want to talk to her or B) she hates having that name and being constantly reminded of it.
