2026 Elections (If We Still Have Them)

Sherrod Brown turns 73 in 2026.

Should Brown:

  • Run for Senate
  • Run for governor
  • Retire
  • Doesn’t matter
0 voters

Probably doesn’t matter but there’s a chance he can steal a senate seat in this cycle. That’s about it, no shot at gov really.

Not even if the Republican nominee for governor is Vivek Ramaswany?

I’m not a fan of people that old running, but:

A) He was actually a really good senator.
B) He’s the best chance by far to steal a senate seat in a place that went Obama 2x/Trump 3x.

The place to push old people out of the way this cycle is lock blue states (looking at you Ed Markey/Jack Reed), not here.

We used to win in Ohio, its not stealing.

Prove to me (not really) he’s the best chance. There’s no.. non-muslim Zohrans, in Ohio?

He lost by only 3.5 points on the same ballot that Trump won by over 11.

He’s popular there. In a midterm he can definitely win.

I’d say the burden of proof should lie with those who think someone else has a better chance.

You’re probably right as usual I’m just so tired of seeing these dudes in their 70s. In general. In public.

lolno

Sherrod sucks but we’re lucky to have him and the next guy is going to be horrendously worse.

ā€œcomputer game company founderā€ whoever that is can’t win anyway but we are not sending our best

I don’t think so R’s were gov even when it was voting blue.

well, probably over 10% of Ohio voters think he’s a current senator. (I’m being cautious let’s face it’s probably 25%)

I thought he sounded good, but then

ā€œ Elkind is coming into the race with the promise of heavy financial backing, including from LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. Among the local political figures backing him are Dan Doctoroff, who served as a deputy mayor under Michael Bloomberg, and former City Councilman Rafael Espinal, who told CNN, ā€œThis isn’t about removing Nadler, but about who is the best person to carry the baton.ā€ā€

and

ā€œ Elkind said he ranked Democratic mayoral primary winner Zohran Mamdanififth on his own ballot last month. He disagrees with the democratic socialist on issues including freezing rents and government-owned grocery stores, and for his declining to condemn the phrase ā€œglobalize the intifada.ā€ (Elkind noted that he is Jewish himself.) But Elkind said the focus on affordability and a new approach to politics is much of what’s on his mind too.ā€

There will be a ton of big donor money behind these reskinned eDems in 2026. Oh so you hate Chuck Schumer? Ok, but what about 25 year old Chuck Schumer? And what if he also curses on TikTok, ā€œFuck Iran! Charter schools are the shit!ā€ does that do it for you?

The Dem voter base seems to have wised up a bit since 2020, so I’m hopeful of these astroturfed guys getting no traction in their primaries.

I mean it doesn’t make much sense for her run for governor when she has a presidential election to win 3 years.

Another AIPAC candidate, I’m sure. Gotta lock ā€˜em in when they’re young.

it’s bad enough I had to bet on potus this last election but you gonna make me put $ on vance too
