tennis mixed doubles us open changed all the rules, put it a week earlier only 16 not 32 teams and seeding is based on singles records. I get it nobody cared about mixed doubles so try to put it some time it’s during nothing but a lot of mixed doubles people are just journeymen and they do not want an extra week of hotel costs. one milly to the winning team though so that’s still great if you win.

Aa short blusky thread about the pre hayes code movies and what the Hayes Code did. Those dresses would raise an eyebrow even today. Kind of shows that there isn’t some unrelenting upward trajectory towards progress but movement back and forth. In the replies someone mentioned that the Hayes enforcement era became the golden age that conservatives now hark back to. Had me thinking on how societal myths build upon themselves.
