I think you’ll find very quickly if you want to do amateur journalism on things that are actually happening on these platforms, you will not get very far. Try it on certain topics and you’ll quickly learn what I am talking about if you pay attention. This is why I think a site like this is extremely valuable - it’s one of the last fairly untainted public spaces left.
I agree there is a need and desire for this. The problem is, you’d first have to beat these goliaths by yourself and you can’t.
I had thought about going to see europe next year but at the speed of this administration I’m not sure americans will be allowed at that point. Might have to do it soon as I can get to it.

Switzerland will be neutral in the face of fascism, so that will be good enough.
