I think you’ll find very quickly if you want to do amateur journalism on things that are actually happening on these platforms, you will not get very far. Try it on certain topics and you’ll quickly learn what I am talking about if you pay attention. This is why I think a site like this is extremely valuable - it’s one of the last fairly untainted public spaces left.
I agree there is a need and desire for this. The problem is, you’d first have to beat these goliaths by yourself and you can’t.

Switzerland will be neutral in the face of fascism, so that will be good enough.

I waited tables in a half dozen places and I never heard of any place having a policy like this.
Possibly unrelated, but red states allow employers to do all kinds of crazy things, would not be surprised if this was one of them. Like I know that there are places where if you quit without giving two weeks notice they can reduce your pay for hours already worked to minimum wage.
