2025 LC Thread: Now With Added 2026

I think those were arrows signifying travel and not greater than signs.

At least I would hope that no one would have Ohio tops in that list

Since the 70s people haven’t grown citrus commercially north of basically Orlando because of the threat of hard freezes killing off your trees. Now people are growing citrus up around Jacksonville because our winters are more mild.

It’s official, OH > Japan!

Parked next to a Toyota Tacoma the other day.

The “TACOMA” on the back was colored as the stars and stripes. It had these stickers on the back: thin blue line American flag, thin blue line Punisher skull, the COBRA logo from G.I. Joe, the Planet Express logo from Toy Story, “Don’t Tread on Me,” and a couple others that I couldn’t identify.

The person who exited the vehicle was a county sheriff officer in full uniform.

New York is supposed to close down Rikers Island and replace it with new jails in each borough. Here’s a rendering of a proposed jail in The Bronx

Bottom floors will be mainly retail. It seems kind of weird to go to the Trader Joe’s under a jail.

Up until just a few years ago there was jail on Central Park North with some of the best views in the city. Think its vacant now while the state figures out how to turn it into condos.

Ok that makes more sense

Define “proper”. I’m sure I remember multiple massive snowfalls in the region.

There’s an old jail near the high line in what is now a very expensive neighborhood that is being converted into affordable housing.

Btw, I had a half a mind to start a thread for this kind of random NYC stuff, but not sure how much interest there would be

What eyebooger said. They’re not greater than signs. He loves Japan.

Rick’s group in The Walking Dead turned a prison into their home for a while. It can be done.

Televangelist Jim Bakker Says He Needs A Million Bucks Or ‘I’ll Be Out On The Street’

Televangelist Jim Bakker, who was at the heart of one of most notorious religious scandals of the 1980s, says he’s in desperate need of cash right now.

And if he doesn’t get $1 million, he will lose everything and be homeless.

“If everyone that watches this program will give $1,000, we’ll be able to pay our bills and stay on the air,” he said on his show on Tuesday. “Otherwise we got about another maybe a month.”

He said it’s not just his show that’s on the line.

“If they foreclose on this ministry, they will take my house too, so I’ll be on the street,” he said.

Bakker claimed he hasn’t taken a salary himself and has no money of his own.

“We have a big debt,” he said, saying an unnamed “they” has “taken millions of dollars from us.”
